Shinjuku food walking tour - This was our first visit to Tokyo and we wanted a guided food walking tour to help us find our bearings and try out some local food. Our guide was Hernand and he was excellent. He met us at the designated meeting point on time and took some time to check with us any food likes/dislikes, allergies etc and we left him with a challenge as one of us doesn’t eat fish/seafood. He walked at a pace that suited us both (we are mobile and moderately fit but not super fit) and he stopped regularly to point out places of interest around the SHINJUKA district. We stopped for food in 3 different restaurants and we enjoyed a great variety of food options. The restaurant experience wasn’t rushed and we spent about 30 to 40 minutes in each one. As this was an evening tour the area was extremely packed and busy but Hernand did a great job in making sure he didn’t lose us which was an achievement in itself! Hernand also took lots of photos of us and sent them to us after the tour so we have some great memories. We would definitely recommend the tour and if Hernand is your guide you will have a great time 🙂

Japanese BBQ Heaven - This food tour is definitely worth looking into especially if its your first time in Tokyo! Lots of walking in the hot & humid weather of Tokyo in the Summer but Kato was an amazing guide, he made the heat feel more bearable. Thank you Kato for everything! Please book with him, he was such a sweet man and very knowledgeable!

Disappointing food places and guide did not explain what we were eating. - Unfortunately we went to very low quality food places and the guide did not explain what we were eating. The sushi was inedible.
I usually like to to take walking tours and food tours of new places I visit but this was by far the worst experience I have had in many years.
