Established 174 years ago, Kouichi Store is a renowned kimono maker committed to preserving and sharing Japan’s rich textile heritage.

Start your journey at the historic tea room Rakuu-tei Kouichi Store, nestled within the serene Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Upon arrival, the staff will assist you in selecting from a variety of seasonal kimono designs.

The process of kimono selection, professional dressing, and simple hairstyling for women takes about 60 minutes, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience, even for first-time wearers. The rental includes an obi belt, tabi socks, traditional sandals, and a Japanese-style handbag.

Once dressed, you are welcome to explore the beautiful garden in your kimono until the final return time. Please be aware that the final kimono return time is 5:00 PM. To fully enjoy the garden at a leisurely pace, it is recommended to book an earlier time slot.

After your stroll, you can also explore Japanese souvenirs and gifts in the same shop. When finished, please return to Rakuu-tei Kouichi Store for kimono removal.

Your adventure begins in a traditional tea house situated within Shinjuku Gyoen, one of Tokyo’s most stunning gardens. With a professional dressing service included, even those new to wearing kimonos can feel completely comfortable.

Once dressed, wander through the seasonal landscapes—cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, vibrant autumn foliage, and the tranquil winter scenery.
