The session will kick off with a discussion on the optimal camera settings before we dive into the heart of Shibuya at the world’s most crowded intersection. Our initial focus will be on mastering panning shots. Following that, Laurence will escort participants to various hidden gems he’s uncovered over the years, assisting them in capturing stunning, neon-lit images reminiscent of a ‘Blade Runner’ aesthetic.

Amazing Shibuya Photography Spots - I learned a lot about photography, about being patient, and waiting for the right shot. Laurie took us to some amazing spots we would never have discovered on our own. He was incredibly kind and encouraging.

A Must-Do for Photography Lovers in Tokyo - I had an amazing experience during Laurence’s night photography workshop in Tokyo. His passion for street photography is contagious, and he shares his knowledge in a clear, approachable way. We explored some of the most vibrant areas of Shibuya and Shinjuku, and Laurence offered great tips on composition, lighting, and technique that really elevated my work.
This was also a unique way to see the city from a local photographer’s perspective. Highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in photography—whether beginner or advanced. It was a highlight of my trip!

Laurance was on time and... - Laurance was on time and great to work with. I'm a competent photographer, so did not need help with my camera. My wife was using her phone camera. Laurance showed us locations and angles to capture the vibe of Shibuya at night. He was very patient in showing my wife what her phone camera was capable of and she got some wonderful photos as well. The night was cold and rainy, but frankly the wetness and umbrellas added more interest to the scenes we took photos at. I would recommend Laurance without any hesitation.

Blade Runner Lives On! - The places Laurence will take you are in plain sight, yet you would never think of stopping there to photograph. But then again, everything is in plain site in Tokyo. Or is it? The 2 hour workshop has a true Blade Runner feel to it. He will show you a picture of what the final should look like and provide settings to you if needed. It is well worth the fee that is charged and you will walk away with some incredibly creative images!

Great time capturing Tokyo-unique images - Laurence has great knowledge of very visual photo spots in Shibuya and is able to easily explain to workshop participants on how to capture great images. I have more than 40 years photo experience and I really enjoyed spending a coupe of hours with Laurence making images in one of Tokyo’s most visual locations. I highly recommend this to anyone who would like to make some great images and to extend their personal photographic eye.

Great way to experience the bustle of Tokyo! - I do photography as part of my work and I am always looking to learn from other photographers just for my own personal growth. Street photography is out of my comfort zone, so it was fantastic to have a behind the scenes guide to how he does what he does. He’s very generous with his knowledge and it’s such a great experience. Highly Recommended!

Learning from a Pro - Many possibilities to take beautiful pictures in a short time. The workshop guide is well versed and can improvise, but I would recommend not booking this workshop during Japanese holidays because many locations are not accessible or not enlightened.
