Setting Sail on the Red Sea

The sun was just beginning to rise over Sharm El-Sheikh as I found myself boarding the luxurious Manta 5 boat, ready for a day of adventure on the Red Sea. The anticipation was palpable as we set off, the gentle hum of the boat’s engine harmonizing with the soft lapping of the waves against the hull. Our guide, Ahmed, spoke perfect Italian, adding a touch of elegance to the journey as he shared stories of the sea and its secrets.

As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours in the ocean, but the allure of the Red Sea’s crystal-clear waters was something entirely new. The boat was comfortable, with plenty of space to lounge and soak up the sun. I found my spot at the bow, letting the warm rays wash over me as we cruised towards our first snorkeling stop.

Diving into the Deep Blue

Our first stop was in the middle of the sea, a perfect spot for snorkeling and diving. The water was a mesmerizing shade of blue, inviting us to explore its depths. For those feeling adventurous, a dive was available for a small fee, offering a unique opportunity to experience the underwater world without the need for a diving license.

I opted for snorkeling, a decision I didn’t regret. The vibrant coral reefs and schools of colorful fish were a sight to behold. An assistant was always nearby, ensuring our safety and guiding us through the underwater wonderland. It was a reminder of why I love the ocean so much – its beauty is unparalleled, and every dive or snorkel is a new adventure.

A Slice of Paradise on White Island

Our next stop was the famed White Island, a small slice of paradise in the middle of the sea. We anchored 200 meters from the island, and with a splash, we were in the water, swimming towards the pristine white sands. The island was a photographer’s dream, with its crystal-clear waters and untouched beaches.

Though our time on the island was brief, it was enough to capture the essence of its beauty. As we swam back to the boat, the sun began its descent, casting a golden glow over the sea. Lunch was served on board, a delicious spread of rice, chicken, potatoes, and salad, the perfect fuel for our journey back.

As we returned to the port, tired but content, I couldn’t help but reflect on the day’s adventures.
