The area boasts a myriad of stunning peaks, countless streams cascading into pools, and ancient trees teeming with rare birds and animals. Enveloped in clouds and mist year-round, Mt. Sanqingshan resembles a fairyland and is celebrated as “the world’s most beautiful mountains.” It is also a renowned Taoist mountain with a history spanning over 1600 years. Sanqing Blessed Land, with an average elevation of 1530 meters, serves as a hub for cultural heritage and is an “open-air museum” of ancient Taoist architecture. It showcases the finest cultural relics and Taoist architecture of Mt. Sanqingshan. The site features over 230 ancient structures and heritage sites, including temples, palaces, mansions, lanes, springs, pools, bridges, tombs, terraces, and towers, making it an excellent location for studying ancient Taoist architectural design in China, earning the title “open-air museum of China’s ancient Taoist architecture.” It is now a national cultural relics protection unit.
