• Yu Garden (Yuyuan) - In the afternoon, visit Yuyuan Garden, a classic creation from the Ming dynasty, and the historic Shanghai Old Street, which dates back to the Qing dynasty.

It is situated in the heart of Shanghai’s Old City, one of the few remaining historic tourist spots in Shanghai. Nearby is Shanghai’s bazaar, featuring numerous small streets and lanes where vendors sell their goods and food to tourists and locals. It is called Yuyuan Garden because “Yu” in Chinese means “peace and health”—a place of tranquility and comfort in bustling Shanghai. Yu Yuan Garden was initially built as a private garden by Pan Yunduan, who spent nearly 20 years and all his savings to create a garden to please his elderly parents.

• The Bund (Wai Tan) - Continue the visit to the Bund, Shanghai’s scenic waterfront, renowned as the International Architecture Exhibition for its stunning skyline. From here, enjoy panoramic views of both sides of the Huangpu River.

The Bund in Shanghai was first utilized when the first British company established an office there in 1846. The Bund, or the waterfront, is now surrounded by approximately 50 buildings of various architectural styles, including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism, and the Renaissance.
