Shanghai People’s Square is centrally located in Shanghai, marking the division between East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road. It is a vibrant area for exploration.
Before 1949, the site of Shanghai People’s Square and the People’s Park was a renowned horse racetrack, established in 1861 and celebrated as the ‘No.1 Racetrack in the Far East’. Visitors can still see the remnants of the former main building in the northeast part of the People’s Square.
The tour will include many scenic spots around People’s Square, such as the new Municipal Government Mansion, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Grand Theater, Shanghai History Museum, and the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. The group will also visit the Shanghai Museum. -
Shanghai Grand Theater - The group will admire the facade of the Shanghai Grand Theater.
The Shanghai Grand Theater boasts a unique design and beautiful shape, blending Western and Chinese architectural styles seamlessly. The white arched vault complements the glass curtain walls, resembling a crystal palace. -
Hotel Park Hotel Shanghai - Park Hotel is one of Shanghai’s oldest hotels and was once the tallest building in the city. It serves as the central origin of Shanghai’s urban coordinate axis. Park Hotel is considered an architectural milestone, adding historic charm to the lively cityscape.
The group will then transfer to Shanghai Great World Amusement Park to enjoy the attractions there. - Shanghai Great World Amusement Park - This building was once the pinnacle of nightlife in Shanghai. Da Shi Jie was the place to be in the foreign settlement area of Shanghai. Crowds gathered to see the novelties and enjoy themselves. The first floor still features “magic mirrors” brought from the Netherlands many decades ago. Some shows still continue, showcasing beautifully woven carpets from Xinjiang, cave paintings from Ningxia, and a variety of skilled artisans displaying their crafts.
The group will then transfer to Pudong New Area, walk along Lujiazui Ring Bridge, and visit the Shanghai Tower.

Shanghai Tower - The new landmark of Shanghai, the tallest building in the city, standing at 632 meters. The 118th floor houses an indoor observation deck, the world’s highest, known as the ‘Top of Shanghai Observatory’. Visitors are encouraged to explore the exhibition hall on floor B1 first, then take the express elevator to the 118th floor in just 55 seconds, reaching speeds of 18 meters per second. Here, visitors can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Shanghai. There will be time to admire the scenery on both sides of the Huangpu River from the 119th floor.
The group will visit the highest bookstore in China - Duoyun Books.
‘Duoyun Books’ flagship store is located on the 52nd floor of the Shanghai Tower, 239 meters above ground. Overlooking Shanghai, visitors can almost touch the blue sky and white clouds while enjoying a ‘garden in the sky’.
With a design inspired by a Chinese landscape, the space features bookshelves shaped like mountains and is divided into seven areas, including those for books, exhibitions, cultural events, and leisure.

Wukang Road - Wukang Road is 1.17 km long, featuring 21 outstanding city-level historical buildings and 22 district-level cultural relics. Each house and its details tell stories and history. All buildings on the road are in European style, giving visitors the sense of being in Europe.
The Wukang Building is the most famous on Wukang Road, shaped like a giant vessel, and was the most renowned English-styled building in Shanghai in the 1930s. Designed by the well-known architect Hudec, it stands out. - Hengshan Lu (Hengshan Road) - Hengshan Road, 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) long, is a quiet and elegant passage between Xujiahui, the commercial center to the south, and Huaihai Road, the fashionable shopping street to the north in the Shanghai Former French Concession. Built by the French in the 1920s, Hengshan Road is lined with leafy trees and European-style constructions. Many buildings now serve as bars, making Hengshan Road a famous bar street, popular among overseas tourists and expats due to its proximity to the embassy area.

About twenty garden houses line both sides of the street, representing nearly all residential styles of early 20th-century Shanghai. The area features boutique hotels, apartment hotels, and enterprise mansions, along with a variety of restaurants, bars, coffee houses, tea houses, clubs, convention centers, showrooms, cultural salons, designer shops, and recreational parks. Visitors can stroll down this clean and romantic one-way street, enjoying the shade of the plane trees on both sides, and feel the peace amidst bustling Shanghai.
The group will then take a cruise to enjoy the scenery along the Huangpu River.
- Huangpu River - The Huangpu River divides two iconic yet different Shanghai sights: the modern skyscrapers in the Pudong area and 26 various buildings of different architectural styles on the west side. The group will take a one-hour cruise along the Huangpu River to enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides, including the Bund, the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, and Jin Mao Tower.
Afterwards, the group will return to the hotel by private transportation, wrapping up their memories and saying goodbye at the hotel.
