- Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road) - Nanjing Road (Chinese: 南京路; pinyin: Nánjīng Lù; Shanghainese: Noecin Lu) is a prominent street in Shanghai, with its eastern section being the city’s primary shopping area. It ranks among the world’s busiest shopping streets, alongside Fifth Avenue, Oxford Street, Orchard Road, Takeshita Street, and the Champs-Élysées. The street is named after Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province and the former capital of the Republic of China. Presently, Nanjing Road is divided into two parts: Nanjing Road East and Nanjing Road West.
In certain contexts, “Nanjing Road” refers solely to the pre-1945 Nanjing Road, which was then known as Nanking Road in English. The original Nanking Road was entirely within the Shanghai International Settlement. Today’s Nanjing Road West was previously Bubbling Well Road, an extra-settlement road constructed by concession authorities outside the main concession area. The two roads converged at the northern boundary of the Shanghai Race Club.

Huangpu River Cruise - Enjoy an evening cruise on the Huangpu River. During the cruise, both sides of the river, Pudong and Puxi, can be admired. The Bund on the Puxi side is renowned as the International Architecture Exhibition. Nowadays, the historic buildings house numerous trendy pubs and restaurants.

The Bund - Situated in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, The Bund (Waitan) is a 1.5 km historic riverside promenade on the west bank of the Huangpu River, stretching from Waibaidu Bridge in the north to East Yan’an Road in the south. Established after Shanghai became a treaty port in the mid-19th century, it was once the financial and trade center of the Far East. The 52 elegant buildings, showcasing Gothic, Baroque, Neoclassical, and Art Deco styles, form the iconic “Gallery of World Architecture.” Today, it offers a striking contrast between classic architecture and the futuristic skyscrapers of Pudong, and is a free, all-day destination cherished by both locals and tourists.

Lujiazui - Lujiazui is a district in Shanghai, located on a peninsula formed by a curve in the Huangpu River. Since the early 1990s, Lujiazui has been developed as a new financial district of Shanghai. The decision to designate Lujiazui for this purpose highlights its strategic location: it is situated on the east side of the Huangpu River in Pudong, directly across from the historic financial and business district of the Bund.
Lujiazui is a national-level development zone recognized by the government. In 2005, the State Council reaffirmed the designation of the 31.78 km2 (12.27 sq mi) Lujiazui area as the sole finance and trade zone among the 185 state-level development zones in mainland China.
