• The Bund - The tour guide will meet the group at the hotel at 9:00 a.m. and then proceed to the Bund. This iconic waterfront on the west bank of the Huangpu River is a symbol of Shanghai, showcasing the city’s vibrant blend of historical charm and modern dynamism. Visitors will admire 26 buildings of various architectural styles, including the Peace Hotel, Shanghai Customs House, and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, while enjoying views of the skyscrapers across the river.

• Yuyuan Old Street - Known historically as Miaoqian Dajie, this old business street combines tourist attractions, shops, entertainment, and cultural exhibits. It is renowned for its rich commercial history, being home to the city’s first bank, gold shop, jeweler’s store, wine shop, and tea house. Exploring the old alleys offers a glimpse into traditional Shanghai culture and local life. The tour includes a walk along Yuyuan Old Street, a tea ceremony in a historic teahouse, and a visit to a classical garden.

• Yu Garden (Yuyuan) - The tour continues to Yu Garden, originally built in 1559 during the Ming Dynasty by Pan Yunduan for his father, Pan En. Construction was delayed until 1577 due to Pan Yunduan’s appointment as governor of Sichuan. Despite its small size, Yu Garden features all the elements of a classical Chinese garden, including pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds, and cloisters, each with unique characteristics. The garden is divided into six distinct areas.

At noon, the group will enjoy traditional Dim sum, Xiaolongbao, for lunch. Afterward, they will explore Xintiandi and visit the Shikumen Museum to experience the contrast between early 20th-century Western-style architecture and modern structures from the 1990s.

• Xintiandi - This attraction preserves Shanghai’s historical and cultural features while blending Chinese and Western influences. Xintiandi is split into northern and southern sections, with the south featuring modern architecture and the north showcasing Shikumen buildings. It has become a trendy pedestrian street, reflecting the city’s new generation’s lifestyle, with outdoor cafes, bars, and romantic restaurants.

• Shikumen Museum, Shanghai - This museum is housed in a preserved and renovated Shikumen house from the 1920s, modeled after a typical household of that era. It features seven main exhibition rooms, including the guest room, study, and master room, illustrating the unique Shikumen architectural culture and the lifestyle of Shanghai residents at the time.

The tour then moves to People’s Square to visit the Shanghai Museum and explore the rich history and culture of Shanghai.

• People’s Square - Located at the heart of Shanghai, People’s Square is the dividing point between East and West Nanjing Road. Before 1949, it was a famous horse racetrack, known as the ‘No.1 Racetrack in the Far East.’ Visitors can still see remnants of the main building in the northeast part of the square. The area features many attractions, including the new Municipal Government Mansion, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Grand Theater, Shanghai History Museum, and the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall.

• Shanghai Museum (Shanghai Bowuguan) - Situated in People’s Square, this large museum of ancient Chinese art surrounds visitors with artifacts that reflect ancient wisdom and philosophy. Its design, with a round dome and square base, symbolizes the ancient concept of a round heaven and square earth. The museum has eleven galleries and three exhibition halls, covering major categories of Chinese art such as Ancient Bronze, Ceramics, Paintings, Calligraphy, Sculpture, Jade, Coins, Ming and Qing Furniture, Seals, and Minority Nationalities.

The tour then heads to Pudong to explore Shanghai’s financial district and visit the Shanghai Tower.

• Pudong New Area - This vibrant district offers modern attractions, businesses, skyscrapers, and shopping malls, showcasing the latest in entertainment, technology, and fashion. The group will walk along the Lujiazui Ring Bridge, an excellent spot for photographing skyscrapers.

• Shanghai Tower - As Shanghai’s tallest building, the Shanghai Tower stands at 632 meters. The 118th floor features the world’s highest indoor observation deck, known as the ‘Top of Shanghai Observatory.’ Visitors are encouraged to start at the exhibition hall on floor B1 before taking the express elevator to the 118th floor, which takes just 55 seconds at a speed of 18 meters per second. From here, they can enjoy a panoramic view of Shanghai, admire the scenery along the Huangpu River, and relax with a coffee or tea on the 119th floor. If the weather permits, a spectacular sunset may be visible.

Afterward, the group will be comfortably transferred back to the hotel, concluding the tour with fond memories.
