Shanghai Museum (Shanghai Bowuguan) - Your 13-day China tour package officially begins today! We highlight our tour with a visit to one of China’s top four museums, the Shanghai Museum, featuring main exhibitions of ancient bronzes, porcelain and ceramic wares, calligraphy, and Chinese paintings.
Yu Garden (Yuyuan) - Next, we proceed to Yu Garden. The exquisite design and intricate layout of the pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds, and cloisters in this classic garden are all worth visiting.
Tianzifang - We conclude the day’s program by exploring the Bund area and the historic cultural street, Tianzifang.
Pudong Half-Day Tour, Visit 118th Floor of Shanghai Tower, Fly to Guilin, Airport-Hotel Transfer
Shanghai Tower - In the morning, our guide and driver will take you on a half-day tour of Pudong, visiting the 118th floor of Shanghai Tower, the second tallest in the world. At the Observatory, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Shanghai city. Then, you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Guilin, where another local guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel after you collect your baggage.
Lujiazui - Shanghai Lujiazui, Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center
Reed Flute Cave, Seven Star Park, Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill
Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan) - We’ll start the day by touring the Reed Flute Cave, where you can see many stunning stalactites, stone pillars, and rock formations.
Seven Star Park (Qixing Gongyuan) - We then proceed to Seven Star Park, where elegant hills, clear water, fantastic caves, grotesque rocks, and ingenious architecture are beautifully integrated. You can consult your guide on where to enjoy a good lunch.
Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbishan) - Next, we visit the unique Elephant Trunk Hill, a popular sightseeing spot for over 1000 years. Our last stop is Fubo Hill, where, in addition to charming scenery, we see numerous historical items and stone carvings.
Li River Cruise to Yangshuo, Countryside Tour
Li River - This morning, we board a cruise along the scenic Li River to Yangshuo. Upon arrival, we take a drive to enjoy the farmland, clear water, and elegant mountains around Yangshuo. We stop by a villager’s home for a glimpse of the farmers’ lifestyle. Back at the hotel in Yangshuo, you may take your time strolling in this famous town. Unfortunately, the lunch served on the cruise is a simple Chinese box lunch, so we recommend having a hearty breakfast at the hotel in the morning.
Drive to Guilin Airport, Fly to Chengdu, Airport-Hotel Transfer
Chengdu - Arranged transport will take you from Yangshuo to Guilin Airport for your flight to Chengdu, the breeding grounds of the adorable giant pandas. Our local guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest at the hotel or explore the city on your own.
Giant Panda Base, Jinsha Site Museum, Broad and Narrow Alleys
Jinsha Site Museum - In the early afternoon, we will continue our 13-day China tour to the Jinsha Site Museum, which exhibits many precious and mysterious artifacts, possibly as old as 3000 years.
Kuanzhai Alley - After the museum, we will stroll through the Broad and Narrow Alleys. Traditional buildings, various shops, tea houses, eateries, and street performers enhance this tourist area.
A 4-Hour High-Speed Train to Xi’an, Provincial History Museum, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda
Shaanxi History Museum - A morning high-speed train will take you to Xi’an, a cradle of Chinese civilization. The train journey takes around 4 hours. Upon arrival, our local guide will meet you at the North Railway Station and settle you at your hotel. After the formalities, we will visit the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum, where you can see thousands of rare historic treasures covering the spectrum of Chinese history.
Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta) - Then we move on to visit the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a brick Tang Dynasty structure from the 7th century AD, built to house Buddhist scriptures and statues from India.
Terracotta Army, Xi’an City Wall, Great Mosque. Dinner Enjoy Famous Tang Dynasty Dancing and Dumplings
The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - The entire morning will be spent at the world’s eighth wonder, the Terracotta Army. As an annex of Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleum, the lifelike warriors and horses are believed to be the sentinels of Qin Shihuang. The Bronze Chariots and Horses excavated here are considered the most exquisite bronze ware in the world.
Xi’an City Wall (Chengqiang) - We head to the Xi’an City Wall, which still stands around the old city.
Xi’an Mosque - Our last stop today is the tranquil Great Mosque, one of the oldest and largest. It remains the focal point of religious activities. Dinner includes famous Tang Dynasty Dancing and dumplings.
Take Flight to Beijing, Temple of Heaven
Temple of Heaven - This morning, you will travel by high-speed train to Beijing, the final destination of your 13-day China itinerary. The train journey takes around 4.5 hours. The local guide will meet you at the station and take you to the hotel. Our afternoon visit covers the Temple of Heaven, the imperial temple where emperors worshipped the Gods of Heaven during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The roofs here are all covered with blue glazed tiles, reflecting great solemnity and serenity.
Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, A La Carte Lunch, Summer Palace. Dinner at Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant
Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang) - The first stop of your private Beijing tour is Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest. Built 600 years ago, the T-shaped Tiananmen Square is an important venue for ceremonies of national prominence.
Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Across the square, we will reach the Forbidden City, the royal palace from the 14th to the 20th century. The major color themes of the palace are yellow and vermilion, representing imperial power.
Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - Then our royal tour leads to the Summer Palace, the most significant royal park, displaying an outstanding gardening landscape.
Mutianyu Great Wall with a Round-Trip Cable Car, Olympic Bird’s Nest, Hutong Rickshaw Tour
Mutianyu Great Wall - This morning, we will visit the Mutianyu Great Wall by taking the round-trip cable car. Initially set up as a fortification, it is a historic landmark testifying to people’s never-ending struggles. Lunch today is not included. Our guide is happy to recommend a good restaurant.
Water Cube - On the way back to downtown, we will drive by and make a stop at the Bird’s Nest (Olympic National Stadium) for photo opportunities.
Beijing Hutong Culture Tour - We then continue to visit the Old Hutong Alleys on rickshaws to experience a throwback to the old centuries.
