Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall - At this venue, visitors can explore numerous textual and graphic files along with architectural models, providing a comprehensive understanding of Shanghai’s development. The exhibition highlights the city’s urbanization and modernization, offering insights into its past and present through city miniatures and extensive planning materials. High-tech methods are used to project Shanghai’s future blueprint through 2020.

Yu Garden (Yuyuan) - Next, enjoy a leisurely stroll in the picturesque Yu Garden. Situated in the old town, Yuyuan Garden is celebrated for its clever layout and intricate architecture. The garden’s treasure, Yu Ling Long (a beautiful jade stone), and an artificial hill are among the three most famous peaks in Southern China.

Yuyuan Old Street - Following this, visit the Yuyuan Bazaar, also known as Yuyuan Market, located outside Yu Garden in the heart of Old Shanghai City, near the Old City God Temple. The area features traditional Chinese buildings now serving as commercial stores selling local products, snacks, jewelry, souvenirs, antiques, and more.

Shanghai World Financial Center - Afterwards, head to the Shanghai World Financial Center and ascend to the 100th floor for panoramic city views. It ranks as the world’s 8th tallest building and the 4th tallest in Mainland China. The 100th floor features a 55-meter-long viewing gallery, the second highest observation deck in China, surpassing the Canadian TV Tower (447 meters) and the Dubai Tower (440 meters).

The Bund (Wai Tan) - Next, visit the Bund area, a quintessential part of Shanghai. Located along the Huangpu River, visitors come for the captivating riverside scenery and the unique Western and Gothic architecture. Free time will be provided to explore the Bund and capture photos.

Shanghai - Finally, guests will be driven back to their hotel, or they may choose to enjoy their own time at nearby Nanjing Road.

Shanghai - The guide will meet guests in the hotel lobby around 09:00 AM. They will be taken to the renowned Zhujiajiao water town, approximately a 60-minute drive away.

Zhujiajiao Ancient Town - Known nationwide, Zhujiajiao water town boasts a history of over 1,700 years. Spanning 47 square kilometers (11,614 acres), this fan-shaped town, often called Shanghai’s Venice, shines like a pearl amidst lakes and mountains. Visitors will explore Kezhi Garden, Qing Dynasty Post Office, and Fangsheng Bridge, accompanied by their tour guide.

Jade Buddha Temple - After lunch, guests will visit the Jade Buddha Temple. Established in 1882 for two white jade Buddha statues from Burma, this temple is a renowned Buddhist shrine and active Zen monastery. It plays a significant role in promoting Buddhism through cultural activities, including lectures, library services, academic publications, and regular cultural events.

Tianzifang - The day concludes at Tianzifang, a cultural block featuring distinctive Shikumen buildings with art studios, themed cafés and bars, and handicraft workshops.

Shanghai - At the end of the day, the guide will escort guests back to their hotel.

Pudong International Airport - This morning, there are no scheduled activities. Guests will fly to Yichang to catch the Yangtze River cruise boat, with the option to book flight MU2676 from 15:05 to 17:10.

Chongqing Chaotianmen - The cruise is expected to arrive in Chongqing between 07:30 and 08:00, marking the end of the ship journey. The guide will meet guests on board and transfer them to Chongqing Wulong Karst, a 3-hour drive away.

Wulong Karst Geological Park - Known for its unique karst landforms, Wulong features stunning stone bridges, caves, pits, eroded sinkholes, and gorges. It gained international fame from Michael Bay’s film “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” showcasing the majestic Three Natural Bridges. Other attractions include Furong Cave, Longshuixia Gap, and Fairy Mountain.

Wulong Tiankeng Three Bridges - After a hearty lunch at a local restaurant, the Chongqing Wulong karst tour begins with the Three Natural Bridges, a key feature of this world heritage site. These giant stone arch bridges are marvels of nature, offering breathtaking views of mountain bridges and gorges along a narrow valley path. During the 2 to 2.5-hour visit, guests will also stop by an ancient staging post near Qinglong Bridge, built during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) for official business and guest reception. The well-preserved wooden courtyards feature over 20 rooms.

After some free time to explore, the Wulong trip from Chongqing concludes, and guests will be transferred back to their hotel, arriving around 18:30.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport - At 8:00 AM, the guide will meet guests in the hotel lobby and drive them to Chongqing airport for a flight to Xi’an, with the option to book flight MU2262 from 10:35 to 12:05.

Beijing Daxing International Airport - Upon arrival in Beijing, guests will be promptly picked up and transferred to their hotel, with a driver only, no guide.

Beijing - Today, the tour guide will meet guests in the Beijing hotel lobby at 8:00 AM. The first stop will be Tiananmen Square.

Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang) - At Tiananmen Square, visitors can capture stunning photos of the Tiananmen Tower, Monument to People’s Heroes, and Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao. Located in the heart of Beijing City, the square has witnessed numerous historical events and assemblies over the centuries. Today, it hosts grand celebrations, military parades, and welcoming ceremonies for foreign leaders. Visitors can admire the towering Monument to People’s Heroes and the solemn Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao. Traditional Tiananmen Tower, Zhengyang Gate, and Qianmen Arrow Tower are also present.

Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Next, guests will cross the Tiananmen Tower to visit the Forbidden City, home to 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911). As the largest and best-preserved ancient wooden complex globally, the Forbidden City is divided into the Inner Court and Outer Court by the Palace of Heavenly Purity. The Outer Court was for handling affairs, while the Inner Court served as the imperial family’s residence. The complex is a vast museum with over one million national treasures on display.

Mutianyu Great Wall - Upon reaching the scenic area’s parking lot, guests will take an electric car to the entry and then a chairlift to the 14th watchtower. They will enjoy a leisurely 2-hour hike on the wall, ending with a toboggan ride down. Built and restored in the early Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), the Great Wall at Mutianyu is one of the most famous sections. It is renowned for its unique features, and the professional guide will provide exclusive stories and facts about the Mutianyu Great Wall.

Beijing - At the end of the day, guests will be escorted back to their Beijing hotel.

Beijing - In the morning, the guide and driver will pick up guests from their hotel to continue the Beijing tour.

Temple of Heaven - The first stop is the Temple of Heaven, the largest royal ceremonial building complex in China. Historically, emperors held annual sacrificial ceremonies here to worship heaven and pray for a good harvest. Today, it is a large park where visitors can observe locals engaging in exercises and recreational activities.

Back Lakes (Hou Hai) - The tour continues with a visit to Beijing Hutong, where guests will take a rickshaw ride through the old alleys and visit a Hutong family to experience traditional Beijing life. The area is home to popular restaurants, cafes, and local food stores, offering a chance to taste local cuisine. The guide will provide suggestions. After lunch, guests can stroll around Houhai Lake and explore more of the Hutong area.

Lama Temple (Yonghegong) - After visiting the Hutong, guests will be driven to the Lama Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Beijing. It combines architectural styles from various groups, including Han, Manchu, Mongol, and Tibet. Open to tourists since 1981, the temple attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually for prayer and sightseeing.

Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - A 30-minute drive will take guests to the Summer Palace, known as the museum of ancient royal gardens. The expert guide will lead the tour. The garden primarily consists of Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake. The Long Corridor, 728 meters (796.2 yards) long, is the longest corridor in Chinese gardens, connecting Longevity Hill with Kunming Lake.
