Nearby are the Govdagh (2,437 m) and Niyaldag (2,322 m) ranges. The Lahij pass, at the crossroads of the great Niyaldagh range, is 1,700 meters high and narrow, making it challenging to traverse. The roads remain open year-round, though they can be hazardous. Lahij, nestled behind seven mountains, shares a unique characteristic with all Eastern towns. Historically, it has had seven residential quarters surrounded by seven mountains, seven springs, seven mosques, and seven baths.
