Great experience, well worth it! - It was an amazing cruise. The staff were friendly. We had some great sightings of wildlife and the place we went to was absolutely beautiful. The food was also good!

Blue Glacier - The staff was very knowledgeable, attentive, and happy. The captain took the time to make sure we saw the marine life and explained each glacier. We did the dinner cruise and the burrito hit the spot. Would recommend taking Dramamine just n case. Waves were a bit rocky.

Great day for wildlife... - Great day for wildlife sightings. Saw 5 different humpbacks, 2 pods of orcas, two different types of seals, Dall's porpoises, two types of puffins, sea otters, bald eagle. Also awesome closeups of 2 glaciers. The voice in our heads (the boat captain) was fun and informative. We had such a great day. Highly recommend.

Low Key and Relaxing - It was windy the day we went and so it was a little rough. The cabin is enclosed but there is an area to get outside as well if you wish. To use the rest room you have to go out on the deck at the aft of the boat but it is right outside the door. The crew was professional and attentive. Dinner was a chicken quesadilla substitution but we knew that in advance and were given an opportunity to cancel the trip. The commentary was very interesting plus the up close glacier viewing. We didn't see any animals and I can't really imagine that happens often as the shoreline is rocky and steep. 6 hrs is kind of long so be sure you want to kick back and relax for that period of time

Last dinner cruise of the season - We took the last Dinner cruise of the season. The captain was knowledgeable and friendly over the intercom. I gave I treating information but didn’t talk excessively. He was thoughtful in the places we went to have the best opportunity to see wild life. He did spot a whale, and was patient on waiting for it to make itself visible again rather than just moving on after 5 min. We reportedly were the only tour that saw a whale as they have moved out early this year. We saw sea lions and beautiful rock formations. The glaciers were exceptional He spotted a small pod of porpoises which we followed for a while. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only thing I have to say negative is the food was TERRIBLE. First of all when we scheduled the cruise part of purchasing the ticket we had to chose a dinner option, one of theee choices. Salmon, braised short ribs or a vegetarian dish. But when we got on the boat they announced some burrito dinner. When it was served we got a salad which was the remainder of a spring mix but only the twig type lettuce drizzled with vinegar and a side of hummus….. huh? Hummus with salad?? Idk what the heck. The hen we got the over heated mostly dry and hard burritos, with some mystery meat and some stale Tostito chips and salsa. It was so gross and not edible. There was no reason given for the lack of proper dinner that we ordered. For the price of the ticket, $204/ person which did not include drinks of any kind, I think we should have had the proper dinner which was ordered with the ticket purchase. When we got back to was late and the tour company was closing so could not ask about the change. When you purchase a meal cruise beware food…. NOT GOOD! Beautify … definitely there.

Food was not what we were told and narration was not my favorite. Sights were amazing. - We went on the Last dinner cruise of the season. We were given the option when booking the trip to select our dinner option. So the 4 of us in our party were excited for salmon and nice side and one person chose the beef or pork dish as well. When it came time for dinner we were served Chicken burritos with chips and salsa. A salad for the app and piece of cake for dessert. Drinks were not free for the meal and that also was unfortunate for the price of the tour. We were very unhappy that the staff mostly acted like this was normal when we were told we should have gotten a better meal. There was no offer for money back as well for this lower quality meal. So really annoying and apparently we heard others left before the cruise even left port because they learned this before we left. So just bad business from Kenai Fjord tours. Plus the captain was all over the place in his narration. I thought he was on something since he would start talking and then pause for over a minute and then just randomly start back in on that thought. He said he had a sore throat and another guy did like the last hour of narration and that was so much better. The tour and sights were amazing view wise and the glaciers were stunning. Just a big let down on the food and narration. Maybe they can solve this for next season. One of the servers said she heard it was a supply issue but nothing was mentioned to us before leaving in that week span since booking or during the meal about making it right.

Meal not as described on website - The meal was described on the website as salmon, short ribs or a vegan/gluten free meal. We were served a salad and burrito and a chocolate torte. It was good, but highly disappointing when we found out of the change during check in. Staff and crew were fabulous as well as the glaciers and the views.

Very disappointed with dinner cruise - Not what we paid for. The cruise itself was nice. We saw the beautiful glaciers and some wildlife. But it was not a good dinner cruise! We were promised crab cakes, salmon, and beef ribs for dinner and we got nowhere near that. We got a very basic salad with no dressing and a premade burrito and packaged chips and salsa. It was edible but was nowhere near what we were promised. Not anywhere close to a suitable substitute. And worse than that there was no warning and no apology. They passed it out as if this was normal even though we all selected an entree when booking (salmon, beef or vegetarian). We finally asked what was up and one crew member told us it was a supply chain issue and they had to give a backup but it wasn’t a backup anywhere close to what was promised. Basically we were promised high class dining and we were given lower than Taco Bell. Not okay. The other crew member we asked about it gaslighted us and told us the salmon we wanted had to jump into the boat in order for us to have it. Overall the boat tour was very nice and we saw lots of nice sites but we should NOT have booked the dinner cruise. It was a major major let down. We wanted to ask for our money back. If they had had the decency to tell us in advance and give us a discount that would have been fine but nope. They acted like a gas Station burrito and a handful of lettuce was comparable to a crab cake and salmon with multiple sides. Not anywhere close and no apology at all. On top of that the narrator over the speaker was terrible. He paused for a minute at a time in the middle of a sentence and kept losing his train of thought. The boat itself was nice and there were plenty of seats but we were really disappointed.
