Gwongeumseong Fortress - This historic site, also known as Onggeumsan Mountain Castle or Toto Castle, is located on the steep Dolsan Mountain in the Seoraksan Sogongwon area. Believed to have been constructed by King Gojong during the Goryeo Period (918-1392), it is also referred to as Gwon-Kim Castle, named after two generals who are said to have built it to evade conflict.
Sinheungsa Temple - Originally founded as Hyangseongsa Temple by Buddhist monk Jajang during Queen Jindeok’s reign in the Silla dynasty, it was relocated to its current site during King Injo’s reign in the Joseon dynasty after several fires. Legend has it that monks Yeongseo, Hyewon, and Yeonok dreamt of a white-haired heavenly man who guided them to the temple’s location, leading to its reconstruction and renaming as “Sinheungsa,” meaning “blessed by God and prosperous.”

Today, many hanoks serve as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants, and tea houses, offering visitors a chance to experience traditional Korean culture. Visitors are encouraged to be respectful as this is a residential area.
