For the origin of the name ‘Grandma Rock’, refer to the legend below. The visible rocks and the life of Jeju people awaiting the sea’s bounty can be observed here. These stone pillars are believed to have formed during a volcanic eruption. A chimney-shaped stone pillar, where surrounding rocks are eroded by waves leaving only strong rocks, is scientifically termed a sea stack. Pine trees naturally grow atop Oedolgae, offering a picturesque view. -
