Seongsan Ilchulbong - 성산일출봉 (Seongsan Ilchulbong)
Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, a prominent attraction in Jeju, was formed approximately 5,000 years ago due to a volcanic eruption on the ocean floor. It is renowned as a prime location for watching the sunrise, considered one of the top ten scenic views on Jeju Island. In addition to sunrise viewing, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone is also a favored trekking destination. The Seongsan-Ojo Trail links two villages by traversing the peak, while the Jijil Trail provides a closer look at the UNESCO-designated geopark and Jeju’s local culture. Walking along these trails is highly recommended to fully appreciate the area; reaching the summit offers breathtaking views of the expansive volcanic crater and the surrounding blue ocean. To complete the visit, head to Seongsanpo Port to observe the haenyeo (female divers) in action. -
Seongeup Folk Village - 성읍민속마을 (Seongeup Folk Village)
This entire village, which preserves the traditional lifestyle of old Jeju, has been designated as an Important Folklore Cultural Heritage. Although it can be considered a folk village, it differs from typical folk villages as it is still inhabited. The village residents serve as volunteer guides, providing visitors with a wealth of information. The Saw-leaf Zelkova and Japanese hackberry trees in the village center are particularly noteworthy. -
Haenyeo Museum - Jeju haenyeo are the resilient mothers of Jeju and the spiritual pillars of the local community. The lifestyle of the Jeju haenyeo community serves as a model for humanity. Jeju haenyeo formed a merit-based community, making democratic decisions through discussions. They cared for the elderly and infirm, such as Halmang Badang and Geseok, and used their earnings to support society, including villages and schools. They also devised various methods to coexist with the sea, such as beach sweeping, gold snatching, and dialysis. The culture of Jeju haenyeo was recognized for its significance and was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on November 30, 2016 (local time).

Seopjikoji - 섭지코지 (Seopjikoji)
A short drive from Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak leads to Cape Seopjikoji. The name derives from the Jeju dialect for a “Cape of Small Land” due to its unique cliff formation extending into the ocean. The stunning harmony of the hill and ocean draws tourists year-round. Visitors may even spot Jeju ponies grazing on the grassy fields. Walking northeast along the cliff, one arrives at Bulgeunoreum Parasitic Cone, offering a splendid view of a white lighthouse against the dark blue sea. Additional attractions at Cape Seopjikoji include the Glasshouse and Yumin Art Gallery, two masterpieces by world-renowned architect Ando Tadao, which blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. -
Jeongbang Waterfall - 정방폭포 (Jeongbangpokpo Falls)
Seogwipo, encompassing the entire southern half of Jeju, enjoys abundant sunshine and warm temperatures, attracting tourists throughout the year. A popular destination is Jeongbangpokpo Falls, one of Jeju Island’s top three waterfalls. The water cascades 23 meters straight down the cliff into a pool before flowing to the sea. Behind Jeongbangpokpo Falls is Waljong Art Gallery, dedicated to Korean artist Lee Wal Jong, who settled in Jeju decades ago. The gallery showcases his inspiring artworks, capturing Jeju’s beauty in his unique style. The strategic location and glass-walled second floor offer visitors a stunning view of the sea. -
Oedolgae - Oedolgae, the starting point of Jeju Olle Trail Course 7, is a stone pillar rising 20 meters high from the sea. Standing alone, it is named ‘Oedolgae’. It is also known as ‘General Stone’ and ‘Grandma Rock’, with a legend that General Choi Yeong decorated this rock like a general during a battle against the Yuan Dynasty, causing the enemy to self-destruct. For the origin of the name ‘Grandma Rock’, refer to the legend below. The visible rocks and the life of Jeju people waiting for the sea’s bounty can be observed here. These stone pillars are believed to have formed during a volcanic eruption. A chimney-shaped stone pillar, where surrounding rocks are eroded by waves leaving only strong rocks, is scientifically termed a sea stack. Pine trees naturally grow atop Oedolgae, creating a picturesque scene. Depending on the viewing angle, it presents a different appearance, showcasing the beauty of nature.
