Day trip to Borobudur Temple from Cruise Port - We received excellent communication from Didik who contacted us a few days before our trip and was waiting for us when we left the ship. He encouraged us to be as early as possible to avoid traffic and the ships coaches of which there were many. This was a wise move as we arrived well ahead of the other traffic although extremely busy because this was an Indonesian public holiday. He dropped us at Boroadour organised tickets for us and explained in excellent English what we would be doing. All worked according to plan. He picked us up after and returned us to the ship in good time. He even provided a snack for us on the way. We enjoyed a very interesting day with our guide Didik

We were so happy with Dani as our guide to Borobudur Temple! - We were very lucky to have Dani being our private tour guide. He is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide for our visit to the ancient Borobudur Temple. Because the day was a big Muslim holiday, the main road to Borobudur was locked for small cars, Dani took us through a detour mountainous road in jammed traffic. It turned out to be a scenic route through some beautiful terrace rice fields and peaceful villages, which we enjoyed very much. Being a skilled safe driver, Dani still got us to Borobudur on time, helped us through the ticketing, admission process, so we spent enough time at the historic Temple. After the Borobudur, Dani took us via some backroad to the other old temple Mendul, in addition we got to visit a Luwat coffee farm to get some precious gifts to take home with. During the day, Dani told us many interesting stories about the Buddhism, Hinduism and Islamic dynamic history in the local Javanese region. These stories made our Borobudur visit so much more interesting and alive! We are so happy to have visited the temple with Dani as our tour guide!

Very good tour. - Long drive, especially since it was a holiday, but Arma, our guide educated us about culture the whole way, which we really enjoyed! After the temple tour he was waiting for us with a nice sampling of local treats, a banana and more water. The temple was incredible and we really enjoyed learning about the history behind it. Thank you Arma, for a wonderful experience.

Magical Borobudur with Maxi - 5 out 5 Reviews I was dreaming of seeing Borobudur and planned my trip and the cruise around it. When I learned that NCL cruise did not offer tour to the Borobudur I reached out to Viator. I am happy I did. Our attentive and fun driver-guide Maxi picked us up as soon as we got off the ship, we had private air-conditioned car to ourselves, he shared history of Indonesia and Java island, as well as landmarks we passed by. He was happy to help us with tasting and purchase of special Kopi Luwak coffee, and even landed us local money when we wanted to buy handy-craft souvenirs by the temple. Splendor, History, and Magic of Borobudur worth the 2.5 hr drive from the cruise-ship port and even a long flight from US.

Cruise ship shore excursion - This was a great tour from the very start. The communication between our driver, Didik, and us prior to the tour made things go really easy once off the cruise ship. It was a long drive, but worth it! The temple was amazing! Attention was paid to making sure we were dropped off back at the cruise ship with no chance of being late. I highly recommend this tour.

Perfect Tour to Borobudur!!!! - This is a 100% Recommendation to book this tour with Maxi!!! Maxi was super-friendly and a great, careful driver. He brought us to the Borobodur Tempel, took politely care about us, got the tickets, showed us the meetingpoints for the guided tour and the shuttle. At the end of the visit he waited for us with a lunch package, cold botteled water und refreshing cold towels, always with a smile, absolutely great! He took us also to another buddhist temple where he was our guide and inspired us with his excellent knowledge about the Buddhism. Of course we had a safe trip back to the ship and were extremely happy with our great day. Thanks, Maxi, for this great tour, and your outstanding, perfect service!!!
