Take pleasure in snorkeling at Silfra with your own personal guide. The temperature of the Silfra Fissure ranges between 2-4 degrees. You get to pick either a drysuit or a wetsuit for an immersive Viking experience. We will be in the pristine water for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. A wetsuit provides more flexibility and enables you to dive, whereas a drysuit offers warmth as you gently drift down the crevice between continents.
- All participants must know how to swim and be comfortable in water
- All participants must be able to communicate in English
- Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting, especially around the neck and wrists
- Minimum age is 12 years, please reach out regarding younger participants & Participants over the age of 65 need to get a physicians approval.
- Be at minimum 150cm (4’9) tall / maximum 200cm (6’7) tall, and be at minimum 50kg (99 lbs) / maximum 120kg (264 lbs)
- Don’t wear glasses, instead bring contact lenses or your own prescription mask (if you have one)
- Recommended to bring a change of clothes (the drysuit has a very small chance of leaking)
- We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks a a base layer under the drysuit
- All participants heights, weights and age must be provided to local operator. If you do not provide at time of booking, please contact supplier immediately after booking to provide this information
- All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. Please find a link to the medical statement on your ticket voucher right after booking the experience to be sure if you qualify.
- Please dress according to weather - no heals or jeans
- Note: Each guide can assist one group of up to six participants at a time. Up to three different groups can be present during this activity.

Please park your car at “Thingvellir P5” and walk 400m back along the road until you reach a smaller car park with all the snorkel and dive. Please be there, ready to meet your guide 15 minutes before your tour is due to begin.

Silfra snorkelling session with Dory - My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the snorkelling session with Dory, it was a unique experience that we’re glad took part in. Dory explained everything very well, provided gear to size, made sure everyone understood the safety measures, took underwater pictures and made sure everything was in order. 5 stars well deserved, would recommend this experience to everyone.

Fault sifra snorkeling - Great experience. The water is clear which allows us to see the fault. With waterproof suits you have a good time, only the lips and hands are frozen.

Exceptional..to do absolutely - Thank you Doris for this wonderful adventure..something egg!!! It was so beautiful..the hight light of my stay in Iceland..I showed the pictures to my co-workers and from Iceland is at the top of their travel list..thank you very much for these beautiful pictures

All excellent - It was such a great experience!!! I am usually fearful of water but my guide ( Ines!) really out me at ease and I simply enjoyed it all the way through. Great view, the water was super clear and had a lot of fun !

Dory is the bomb! - Awesome time and guide was the best. I would highly recommend taking this experience. Water is cold but the hot chocolate at the end is worth it.

Phenomenal snorkel experience at Silfra - Unforgettable experience, crystal clear glacial waters at 2 degrees centigrade. Doris was fantastic. She helped us don our dry suits to ensure great fit. She explained the equipment well and the simples techniques we might need to clear our masks/snorkells during the snorkel tour of Silfra. We were even fortunate to see an Atlantic Char swimming deep in the fissure. I was worried it might be too cold to complete the 30-40 min tour but I had no problems. Doris took lots of photos and we were amazed they were uploaded the next day. A small and tasty cup of hot chocolate was brought to the changing van once we had doffed our diving suits.
