In-depth tour! - An in-depth tour of Seoul with a kind and knowledgeable local guide and historian! Great value as well! My husband and I are in our early 30s and we enjoy learning about the history, politics and “the real side” of a country beyond regular shopping and tourist attractions. June put together a thoughtful and insightful tour (not to mention good value)! The tour is well run and we were able to learn so much more about the place (Hanok village, US and ex-Japan embassies) than we would have without a guide. Despite the cold and rainy weather the day we did the tour (in mid december), the two-hour walk was manageable and didn’t feel long. I’d recommend this tour to everyone!

Super great informative tour - Really appreciated my tour with June! His explanations were super clear and funny at times. Felt like I was listening to a really well done lecture. I learned a lot about the history of Korea and how that affects present day.

Great merging of Korea’s history and its influence on modern Korea - The tour provided an excellent historical context that helps one to understand how modern Korea has been shaped by principles of Confucianism (Joseon dynasty) and capitalism of the post-Korean War era. The significance of historical sites—Gyeongbukgung Palace, US Embassy, Blue House, statues at Gwanghwamun Square, was enhanced by their back stories. Glad we did it on our first day. June is an articulate speaker who welcomed questions and answered them as needed. Be prepared to walk up some steep areas.

Great tour exploring Seoul‘s history and culture - I really enjoyed this tour. I joined solo and had a great time. I liked that it was only about two hours as it was the perfect length to stay focused. June guided us through in a very clear and structured way+ I learned a lot about Korean history and culture. At the end he even gave us personal tips tailored to our interests. Definitely recommend!

Interesting and educational - Great tour! June is well spoken and highly knowledgeable about the past and present of South Korea and talks about how history and politics have shaped the country and the mindset of its people. The route winds through various distinct areas of the city while the guide shares the origins and cultural heritage of each of them and how people living there are trying to balance traditional confucian values with present western individualism. You'll also get an insight on the relations with neighbours in the past and present and how this shapes the daily life. Highly recommended!
