Very professional and knowledgable friendly captain made this a fantastic day, If you like to fish I highly recommend All Star Charters.
We had a good time fishing with Captain Len out of Seattle for Salmon. The weather was perfect and it was a beautiful morning. Capt. Len was very friendly and professional and even had hot coffee for us. We had about a 15 min ride to the fishing area and Len explained our strategy. We started and soon were getting bites. We caught a few kings (release) and then started catching cohos. Myself and my family are experienced anglers and Len showed us how and let us set up the baits and downriggers. He narrowed down the depth they were biting and we got bites almost every pass over the "hot" zone. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is this: Please be aware that if you reach your limit you HAVE to stop fishing by law. We were having a great time and the next thing I knew the Capt. said we were done fishing. It wasn't even 2 hours yet. This wasn't pointed out to us or I would have surely told him we would release fish when we were one away from limit and enjoy the EXPERIENCE. We charted a 6 hour trip. To be fair, Capt Len adjusted our bill and and in all other ways was an excellent captain. I would recomend them but make sure you discuss your limit/fishing before you go.
Experience was great. Just wanted to catch more fish. I understand Salmon was out of season.
It was a good time but cold and we didn't catch anything. The staff was capable and I felt safe.
Would have been fully satisfied if we had caught some keepers. The captain worked very hard to make that happen. Like I told everYonex, it was a good day to go fishing but it wasn't a good day to catch'email. We loved our fishing trip.
It was fun! Thanks
Gary and Tim were great company and guides on my fishing excursion, with my father in law. I will come back to these guys to get more pointers on fishing for chinook salmon in Puget Sound.
I have never been "deep sea fishing" before, so, I wasn't sure what to expect. We were fishing for Blackmouth salmon, so again not sure how that impacted the experience. I have fished hundreds of times (trout and bass). It felt like we were troll fishing for trout, but just on a larger scale. Hook a fish and real it in.... That being said, Gary our Captain and Jim our deck hand were amazing. Great guys and they worked hard for us. Gary knows the area and moved from spot to spot to get us the best possible fishing.
The guides were great and we had a great time!!
The Captain (Nick) was great. The boat was great. The water was great. The fishing was not great, but that is not the captain or the charter's fault. Just bad timing with closed fishing areas, hot weather and near a full moon with clear skies. I will be a future customer and try again. Thanks for the great correspondence.
Capt. Len was great and was easy to have conversation with. He had very good knowledge of the sound and sea life. My grandfather and I had learned a lot from Len. The boat was great and it was very clean. The only bad part of the trip was the regulators made us fish in a different area that the charters had not fished in, and we only caught two salmon that were two small to keep. It's completely out of the control of All Star Fishing Charter. I would definitely book with All Star Fishing Charter again, and probably will later this summer. It was a fun, relaxing experience on the sound.
I will just say, I have been on other company charters before and had a more pleasant experience. Others had made it an adventure not just a fishing trip. All of us caught Salmon and weather was good.
Gary is a great captain and Jim is a great deck hand. Friendly, knowledgeable, answered a lot of our questions. As luck would have it, and luck is always a factor, the fish were not biting. So we caught only one keeper. Will definitely go with Allstar again.
