What's Included

Our guide will lead you on a spectacular riverside drive from North Bend along an historic railroad grade with ruins of trestles and cedar-pipe water systems. Once past our private gate, you’ll leave the public road to access sights only hikers see: towering old growth trees, rushing streams & waterfalls, thousands of acres of pristine land. Once we arrive at our trailhead, we’ll hike less than 1/2 mile to our crystal-bearing paradise where we’ll expose quartz & pyrite crystals you can keep!

Additional Information

The drive from North bend is 24 miles, 10 of which is on a rocky unpaved road. Only high-clearance vehicles. 4WD is not necessary, but sedans & low SUV’s will bottom out on stream crossings. The road runs along the edge of cliffs, not recommended for acrophobic drivers. Wear sturdy shoes & bring a walking stick if you are accustomed to using one. Trip runs rain or shine, pls dress for the weather. Liability release required for guests 18 & over. We do not book adults w/out kids.

Rules

No pets. This is a family-oriented adventure, we will not book adults w/out kids. This trail can be difficult for people who are significantly overweight, acrophobic, or who have back or knee problems. Trail is short but steep in places, requires climbing over wet rocks & logs.

Cancellation policy

14 days notice required for a full refund. Late cancellations will be rescheduled or refunded if we can fill your space. We earn our trip fee by having happy customers, not hassling people about refunds!

Jules was amazing. She provided us with lots of information and helped us learn a lot about the experience. My daughter came away very happy with the crystals she found and wanting to do more rock hounding.

The Crystal Kid Adventure was totally awesome and beyond our expectations. We found more than enough crystals and other minerals. My daughter took some of the treasures she found to work and has several fellow employees that want to go. Our Geologist guide Jules was the BEST. She made the adventure so much fun with her stories and adventures that she has been on. You could not ask for a better guide than her. Absolutely the most fun I have had in awhile. This is a great adventure for a parent or grandparent to spend time with their child or grandchild in the great outdoors that is the Pacific Northwest. Refreshing to say the least.
