The instructors were knowledgeable, approachable and helped a large group through not ideal snow conditions. 10/10 recommend for those who are journeying into the backcountry.

Steve and Cheri were awesome! Cole and Sharon were also great for their 1 day each we had them for. No notes! Overall we had absolutely horrible snow conditions but both Steve and Cheri kept things fun, engaging, and overall very informative.

I feel the course material was presented in a user friendly manner, even for a beginner. I read the manual before doing the online course. I found the NWAC website helped further illustrate the terrain-specific terms. The online portion, with the addition of videos, reflected the manual well. My only criticism of the online portion was the hypothetical questions. Having no back country experience to draw from (for me or my fake team), I was left wondering why we were heading out to begin with, lol. The field portion was great and really put theory into practice. It was engaging and informative. The instructors delivered the information in very relative terms. They were available to answer any and all questions, even the most basic. As a person who's very new to cold winter conditions, mountains and the backcountry, I feel much more competent to continue exploring safely.

Matt, Alexis and Cole were amazing instructors. Each one with an incredible amount of experience in the backcountry, and facilitated a constructive learning environment in the field. As a beginner, I appreciated their thoroughness in certain areas, reassurance of skill development, and continuous feedback over the 2 days.
