Mocktail workshop - I think the beauty of the Mad scientist drink Fusion Lab was that it was focused on Mocktails and that it was fun and authentic. Everyone was themselves, and you are allowed to have fun making Mocktails and learning from everyone in the room and it is perfectly okay to make a mistake! Matter of fact, you are encouraged to go outside your comfort zone and show that element of creativity. Jen and her team were great at hosting us and the ambience was very warm and welcoming. The space and venue/loft had a close and intimate feeling as well as being right in the heart of Seattle. Def. a must do if you are looking to meet new people or just trying something with your partner/friends or just doing something fun in Seattle!

Amazing Experience! - This is an amazing experience. This is the most unique and fun way to experiment with cocktail and mocktail ingredients you wouldn't otherwise have access to! It's not a class but Jen has wealth of knowledge on cocktail techniques and will help you with whatever drink creation you can imagine!

Soild, Great, and Fun Experience - Fantastic selection of mixers! Good selection of non-alcoholic spirits. Had a good high-level crash course and she was super helpful, personable, and knowledgeable. And fun props! I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to expand on their knowledge of mocktails. The lessons are applicable to cocktails as well!

Amazing - My friend found out about this experience and asked me to go because I love mocktails. I thought this would be a mocktail class but it was actually a free for all drink making experimentation lab, no lessons on technique, but still a great experience. I had a lot of fun. We first donned lab coats and chose our mad scientist names. Jen, the owner, gave us a 10 minute introduction of all the stations and we were let loose in the lab to concoct our own drink creations. The experience was rather immersive in an atelier-like workspace that is decorated with old books and antique trinkets. It felt like I was in an eclectic mad scientist’s lab/apothecary type of environment. There were vials, funnels, shakers, stirrers, measuring spoons, tweezers—all manner of lab tools to aid in experimentation. The best part about this lab is the variety of ingredients I got to discover and sample. There were ingredients I didn’t even know about or wouldn’t even think to buy myself. I enjoyed trying the freeze dried juice powders, various bitters, the non-alcoholic liquors, and edible glitter. There were nice touches like a smoker to smoke your drink with wood chips, herb plants to pick fresh herbs, fun dehydrated fruit pieces for garnish, and fresh citrus. There was also an infusion station with various spices, dried herbs, and teas. Jen made sure to supply everything you would need to create the ultimate drink! I felt like a kid in a candy store. There were also bulk bin snacks provided like wasabi peas, walnuts, gummies, chocolates covered almonds, and banana chips along with charcuterie from the deli in the Melrose Market. Lastly there were 8 participants in this lab and I felt that was just the right amount of people. I didn’t feel crowded or like I was competing for tools/space. We had free roam in the lab and Jen was very generous with sharing some of the more exotic and expensive ingredients. I like how I didn’t feel restricted or limited in resources or time. The 2 hour time allotted felt enough. I definitely recommend this experience and I would for sure go back!

Mocktail lab - We visited today, and this was a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Jen, the host, was funny, helpful, and created a great space for everyone. The ingredients available were plentiful - some I've heard of (non-alcoholic spirits, dried coconut, juices, citrus, etc) and tons which were new to me (beetroot powder, dandelion flowers, honey powder). I created several mocktails, and really enjoyed experimenting with flavors. I will definitely be back

Really fun! - We just visited the Mad Scientist mocktail lab, and had a great time. The space itself is really unique, upstairs in Melrose Market. The loft is decorated nicely with a mix of science, fun, and old fashioned library style. There are also tons of ingredients, arranged at multiple stations across the lab/loft. Jen, the host, was fun, informative, and easy going. She gave a tour, and has clearly put a lot of thought into this experience. As I mentioned above, there are TONS of ingredients available, so this is a good space to try new things that you may not have tried before. You can choose your own adventure here, and I chose to follow one recipe at first, then create my own concoctions afterwards. Highly recommend!

Mocktail lab galore - This mocktail lab comes with a cold smoker which you can use cherry, hickory, oak and mesquite wood to infuse anything you want. I chose to infuse dried ginger and papaya with pecan wood and dried pineapple with cherry wood. There's also a whole section of dried powders. I used kava, li hing mui, coconut cream, pomegranate, guava, lychee and honey powder. Above the dried powders, there's various teas to infuse in distilled water. I chose passion fruit flower. In addition, mocktail booze in rum and tequila form are available as well as a range of bitters. Jen also provides juices from Pressed juicery, pomegranate juice, calpico, lemonade and fresh lime, lemon, ginger and maraschino and luxardo cherries. We also had various glitters, salt and sugars to play with. The combinations are endless! On the snack table, there were corn nuts, red vines, various nuts with a nut cracker, chocolate covered almonds, proscuitto, coppa and Dubliner cheese. I would recommend eating afterwards since these are small bites. There's also a vending machine with fortune cookies with NSFW messages inside. Overall a great experience and would love to experience it again

BEWARE OF SCAM - Would not recommend. The lab was sticky and unclean with leftovers from the night before. The utensils had old food stuck to them, and the snacks were stale or expired. The instructor came in and said she would clean and restock, but she never did. The gingerale and drinks were flat, and the glassware for instagram pictures was dirty. We weren't aware that there was ice until she told us halfway in through the class... for $100 per person, it was a sorry experience.

Mismatch between description and reality - I think yesterday’s session just went sideways on the host Jen. The AC was not working in the building and it was an unseasonably hot day in Seattle. Jen appeared surprised when we arrived for our session and seemed a bit disheveled and disoriented. We immediately decided it was not a good plan to continue. We thanked Jen for her time and left before the session genuinely started. As I said, maybe just a bad day. Seeking refund
