Captain Ken was an excellent instructor in the classroom and on the water. Ken made sure we understood the classroom concepts well with examples from his 40,000 miles sailed over his career, and provided us with a course syllabus outlining the flow of the class. These techniques were very helpful in seeing the "big picture" of the Basic Coastal Cruising class. Also, he carefully explained the steps we were going to complete before we ran each boat handling exercise, and provided helpful feedback on what we did well and what we could improve. His teaching method had a very positive impact on what I gained from the ASA 103 class. Finally, I am grateful for the planning and care he and Captain Lucy exhibited in all areas of safety on the water.

Captain Bob was a great instructor. Very patient and thorough. Sailing tasks practiced were appropriate for the class and material will surely be helpful in my future sailing adventures.

Great experience. Feel much more competent after two days sailing the Benetau 43 with captain Gary and the crew.

ASA 103 Certification and Captain Chris were incredible. I was really able to put all of the knowledge from 101 into practice plus make it all work on a larger boat. By the end of the day on Sunday we were rocking the bay and our complete crew felt confident to sail. Can't wait to charter our next boat from SCCA. I'll be back for 104 and more.

We had a wonderful experience with South Coast Sailing. We loved our instructor Craig. He was thorough, patient and a fabulous teacher.

I greatly enjoyed the class. The staff and instructors are polite and knowledgeable.

The boat we were provided with was too heavy to complete all the exercises required by the curriculum. Pretty frustrating.
