We really enjoyed the boat trip over to the island. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Ferry service fine, Daufuskie not so much. Pretty depressing place, especially w bankrupt developments. Melrose would be a great Halloween setting .I would incorporate those failed places into the narrative... the other side of HHI.
The ferry service was good but that's where it ended. The general store left a lot to be desired, the furniture on the porch was filthy you didn't want to sit on it. the front door was much worse you wanted to use a tissue to touch the door handle. As far as the bathrooms, I saw better in some of the slums in the city, they ran out of toilet paper, the lid on one of the toilets was broken in half and in order to flush it you had to stick your hand in the tank water and pull up on the release.AWFUL, Also the golf carts could use a hosing out. The Island was kind of cool but the maps were not very helpful. We along with others in the group were checking with one another because some of the areas to visit were not where they showed on the map. Finally, we went to Daufuskie once and will not return nor would we recommend this trip to anyone that is interested in seeing it. ,
When I originally booked I was under the impression that we would return more around 2pm or 3pm. When we arrived we were told 1pm; which was not sufficient amount of time to see the island. And also were advised to stay until the 6pm departure would increase the cost would also increase if we were to extend our stay. Which made No sense. Next time I will take a ferry that provides more time to explore and not charge more to stay.
Most affordable and the staff made it an overall great experience.
Comfortable, pleasant crew
The ferry service to and from Daufuskie island was fine. The boat was nice and the captain and crew were friendly. Daufuskie island was not what I expected. The port where we enter the island was old and not up to date. The golf carts were old and dirty.
From reservation until we docked back in Hilton Head we dealt with friendly staff. The trip across and back was delightful, we saw dolphins and pelicans. We are definitely looking forward to taking the ferry again in the near future.
The ferry was amazing. For the price it was good. Guy gave a descriptions places while on the ferry. And view was very nice to
My wife and daughter did the tour, and they love everything they saw and experienced there, except their cart didn't run as quick as it should be.
We took our 3 Grandsons ( 12-10 & 7) on the ferry to the island. We loved it! We seen several dolphins each way & we were wild abt the beach over there ! Many large & unusual shells! Very much less expensive than a private dolphin watch trip. 3 hours wasn’t quite enough time to spend on the island though! Get a golf cart for sure!
Ferry was late coming in and then we waited about 15 more minutes while food, Drinks, and plants were loaded on the boat. Boat left 20 minutes late when we only had 3 hrs on the island as it was without being late. I asked the lady on the island if we got an extra 20 minutes since the boat was late and got a very hateful no, not even a consideration. Otherwise was a lovely boat ride, we saw many dolphins and enjoyed the company of the boat staff.
