Tons of info packed into the tour! - Tim was very knowledgeable! It was so nice that he gave us water because it was so hot. It was also nice that he dropped us off after the tour wherever we wanted.

Great Time - Tim is very knowledgable. Highly recommended. The walking is manageable. It was fun even though that sounds unusual for a cemetary.

Superb experience - Highly recommend Tim as a tour guide. Very knowledgeable, very accommodating, very interested in answering questions. The day we went it poured rain at a few points. Tim gave people the option to cancel, get a refund, or continue on. We continued on. He got soaked but we did not because he provided umbrellas (and water). He is exceptional. Tim has a deep respect for the cemetery and an obvious love of Savannah history and lore.

Bonaventure Afternoon Walking Tour - What a gorgeous cemetary. I spend much time in cemeteries and Bonaventure, covered by trees and full of artistically inspired monuments, is exceptional. I respected my guide for not only his understanding of beauty, but an appreciation for unknown grave sitters who care for the monuments of souls. Cemeteries are living stories. I would advise one to arrive comfortable. Wear sneakers, as the cemetary is rocky. Although trees are plentiful, carry an umbrella for the sun. If you don't have water, take the water bottle offered.

Beautiful and interesting. - We were here early morning on a weekday. We were unable to book a tour, but we enjoyed the cemetery. There is an app you can download to guide you to specific graves.

A must do! - Tim was absolutely amazing!!! He was so down to earth and was so passionate about Savannah and his families 6 generations here. He was encouraging to ask as many questions as you would like. He spoke about history on the way to the cemetery, even recommend some place to eat and check out while we are visiting. He even offered bug spray, water and umbrellas which is so thoughtful. He was so knowledgeable about the cemetery. He was also respectful of what you wanted to see and take pictures of. On the way home he even asked "where does everyone want to get dropped off" even made suggestions. I highly recommend this tour. It was by far our favorite experience on our trip.

Tim was absolutely... - Tim was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable and informative. He supplied water and bug spray for all in the group. It was a lifesaver. Transportation to and from the cemetery was so convenient. We were picked up and dropped off just across the street from where we were staying. I would definitely recommend this tour. Top notch experience.

A Walk Through History with a First-Rate Guide - Sometimes guided tours are led by people who treat their tours as an occupation. That is not the case with Tim who treats his Bonaventure tours with passion for the subject. He has a tremendous knowledge of the cemetery (and other nearby cemeteries) and really wants to share it. His background in the hospitality industry as a bartender and other positions is evidenced in his extremely chatty and cordial style. He welcomes questions and tries to answer them from his extensive knowledge of Savannah. Getting to the tour is super convenient. Tim will pick you up in his van at a designated point near your accommodations before driving out to the cemetery and return you to the same location. He will share some basics on the drive out but the real details comes out in the roughly two hour walk through the cemetery. You will see and spend time at the key sites such as the graves of Little Gracie Watson, Conrad Aiken, the Mercer plot and the Bird Girl location. (Don't expect to see this icon from the cover of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil as she has move to a local museum). He will also talk about less well-known subjects such as the extensive Jewish burial section, how plots are maintained and cleaned and other interesting tidbits. You will come away from this tour with a pretty complete understanding of this unique place and its importance to Savannah.
