Constructed between 1848 and 1849 by the renowned New York architect John S. Norris, the house showcases Greek Revival architecture with a blend of Revival and Italianate elements. It occupies the entire southwest trust lot facing Lafayette Square.
The Andrew Low House features one of the few remaining original gardens from 19th-century Savannah, and it is the only one accessible to the public. The parterre gardens, designed shortly after the house’s completion, have been meticulously maintained, initially by the Low family and now by the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America, the current custodians of the property.
