Fascinating story of prohibition - I hadn't even considered the wide-ranging effects of 14 years of prohibition on the US. It tends to be romanticised in movies about the gangsters of the day, but proved to be devastating for some of those who lost their jobs, led to the poisoning of others who drank illicitly brewed alcohol and wreaked havoc with the economy. The speakeasy onsite is brilliant with cocktails of the 1920s on her menu and excellent bar staff. Well worth a visit.

Definitely worth a visit! - We loved this museum! Such a fun presentation and everyone was helpful and seemed to love their job and interacting with guests. Highly recommend for the fun look at this part of history. Mocktails are available for nondrinkers (and no pressure to order anything at all). Just a fun experience.

History and Fun in One - My husband and I visited this museum during our stay in Savannah, and we really enjoyed it. It is very interesting with authentic items from the days of prohibition. We loved all the antique cars and wax figures. They have a beautiful bar which serves drinks. You can have one during your tour or go back later. We really enjoyed talking to the bartender; he had some great information and amusing stories. It doesn’t take too long to see everything, but it’s very entertaining. I would recommend if you have any interest in the history of the area.

Visuals and verbal... - Visuals and verbal information extraordinary. Presented in a concise, timely manner, while relaying so much information, much of which was new to me. One of the best tours I’ve ever been on! Definitely worth your time!

Tommy’s the Tour guide ! - We originally booked the non-guided tour but at the entrance we bumped into Tommy- the guide there who shared a few facts and we turned right around and booked the guided tour. Tommy was fantastic - informative, funny and very detailed— totally worth the upgrade fee- enhanced our entire visit. The museum is great and we will definitely return

Loved the speakeasy at the end! - The museum was fun and educational. The speakeasy is really where it's at though! Before entering the speakeasy, there is a spot on the floor layed out with the steps for the Charleston. Give it a whirl... you'll be glad you did ;-)

To go or not to go? That is the question - I expected more for my money. Basically you look at a few news clips and newspaper articles see some displays of 1920’s stuff walk through a speakeasy, get a drink if you pay extra for it. My $18.00 ticket was discounted as I am a senior. I opted to not pay for a drink though most people did. They said it was pretty good! It killed an hour max. I would not do it again, however, I always wanted to do it…
