Best tour - Liz and the team were amazing! Booking what we wanted was super easy - on the day we learnt so much and it was so well organised we never felt rushed and we even got to have a bonus stop off! Best tour we have done!!

Thanks Liz – An Amazing Day Exploring Upolu - I had an incredible day exploring the island of Upolu with my two teenagers. The tour was completely personalised, relaxed and perfectly paced, with stunning stops including waterfalls, coastal views, swimming spots and cultural highlights. Being collected from and returned to our accommodation made the whole experience effortless. Our guide Liz was phenomenal. Knowledgeable, friendly and great with teenagers, she made the day engaging and memorable for all of us. This tour was a real highlight of our trip and highly recommended.

Totally amazing tour! - Matua Tours are amazing & definitely worth going on. I spent a full day on a personalised tour of Upolu with 2 of the best tour guides ever, Joshua & Liz, loved them! They were so knowledgeable & accommodating, I saw & learnt heaps & had so much fun doing it. The team even picked me up & dropped me off at my accommodation despite it being quite remote, which was super appreciated. Matua Tours were the only tour company who didn’t have a 2 person booking minimum, as a solo traveller this was a godsend. Kisa, the owner, was super helpful in organising it & communication was easy & always quick response times. I would highly recommend these guys for any tours in Samoa. You will have so much fun & truly experience Samoa with a local. Thank you, Kisa, Liz & Joshua, so much, the tour was the highlight of my trip to Samoa & I hope to see you again next time 😊

Perfect way to experience Samoa in a day! - Liz was the perfect guide! From the time she promptly met us at the dock to when we returned to the ship, she totally accommodated us and what we wanted to do and see. She and her driver provided not only great sights but also interesting facts, history, and a delightful lunch. A great day in Samoa! Highly recommend this tour!

Great tour with a local guide on Samoa - Kisa was a great guide. Starting at the port where she picked us up for a private tour, she was totally prepared to show us this beautiful island and have fun doing it. She modified the itinerary to deal with crowds and the rain. We snorkeled with giant clams and turtles, swam in the ocean trench, saw the waterfalls, beaches, good food, and more. We had a great time with Kisa.

- Our hearts are full after this incredible journey under the care of Matua Tours. From the very beginning, Kisa guided us with wisdom and skill—an amazing planner who truly understood our hopes for the trip. She created a beautiful itinerary that was easy to follow and made everything flow smoothly. Her communication, both at home and abroad, was constant and caring. Our guides, Losua (Joshua), Uncle Esela, and Rose were beyond amazing. They took us to parts of Samoa we never would have found on our own. We always felt safe under their protection, and we were gifted with their knowledge and humble spirits. Truly special people with hearts full of aroha. The people of Mulifanua village left a deep impression on us. So welcoming, so generous with their wisdom and stories. The umu kai was delicious, and learning about the taualuga dance and Samoan customs was a powerful, heartfelt experience. We felt truly honoured to be part of it. Throughout the journey, the support team made sure everything ran smoothly. The clear plan helped us stay grounded and connected—not just with each other, but with the Samoan people. The cultural exchange was rich and meaningful. We gained a deeper understanding of Samoan traditions and also reflected on how Pākehā might feel when experiencing Māori culture. This was a journey of unity, learning, and love. Aroha nui to you all, Matua Tours. We’ll be back, and Savai is on the list no doubt about it.

Matua (Parents) Tours is amazing! - This was the trip of a lifetime! I truly appreciated the variety of hands on experiences the guides from Matua Tours gave our group of 14 teachers. They had contacts in schools, with multiple local, private artists and provided many hands-on activities for us to experience the fa'samoa for ourselves. They even tried some of the activities prior to our arrival to verify the timing of the activities. They planned our routes efficiently and made last minute adjustments as needed. Kisa and her team became more than tour guides. They became our family on the islands! Fafetai Lava!
