• Kolsai Lake - A large, pristine mountain lake situated 300 km from Almaty. The Kolsai Lake area, along with the scenic serpentine road leading to it, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Alatau Mountains. Along the journey, one can see Kazakh yurts, horses, snowy peaks, and mountain rivers.

There are pleasant walking trails surrounded by evergreen trees around the lake. Visitors can enjoy a boat ride to experience the lake from the water’s surface or opt for a horseback ride to explore several interesting nearby spots.

• Lake Kaindy - This lake is a remarkable natural wonder, also known as ‘The Sunken Forest.’ This name comes from the dozens of spruce trees that rise from the lake’s surface.

These trees are remnants of an earthquake that occurred in the area long ago, creating a hollow filled with a fir-tree forest. Eventually, a local mountain river began to fill it, forming the lake.

A wonderful walking trail encircles the lake, offering various viewpoints. The entire Kaindy Lake area is a pristine natural haven.

• Charyn National Park - Charyn Canyon is a natural formation that is 2.5 million years old. The canyon stretches 154 kilometers from the foothills of the Alatau Mountains to the Ili River.

Visitors will explore the most stunning part of the canyon, known as ‘The Valley of Castles.’ These ‘Castles’ are beautifully shaped rock formations. There is an opportunity to walk along the canyon’s bottom to the Charyn River and enjoy several panoramic views from the top.

• Viewpoint of Charyn - Another section of Charyn Canyon is called Black Canyon. A brief stop will be made to appreciate the panoramic view of the canyon on the way to the lakes.
