• Sebilj Fountain - The Sebilj Fountain stands as an iconic symbol of Sarajevo. According to legend, “Anyone who drinks from any of Sarajevo’s fountains and spouts will return to Sarajevo.” This historic fountain was constructed in 1753.
• Kazandžiluk - The name Kazandžiluk originates from the kazandžijas, skilled metalworkers and coppersmiths who initially crafted kettles for the military and later expanded to create various copper items for daily use, such as ewers, pitchers, coffee pots, metal table tops, and trays. During the “Golden Age” of Ottoman Sarajevo, coppersmiths produced approximately a hundred different types of items.
• Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures - Visitors will encounter a remarkable location where Eastern and Western architectural styles converge, illustrating why Sarajevo is often referred to as the Jerusalem of Europe.
• Baščaršija - Travelers will have the opportunity to meet a coppersmith artist in his vibrant shop. They will learn about his distinctive family business, which has been passed down through generations. Together, the travelers and the artist will craft a copper souvenir of Sarajevo. How exciting is that?

In this tour/activity we will learn more about Sarajevo’s traditional crafts. One of them is of course the coppersmithing. We will also meet with our local artist, a coopersmith, and with his help make a small and unique souvenir for you to take home :)

Coopersmith is an old name for a craftsman, who designs or modifies (modifies) jewelry and small ornaments of silver or copper. This craft is, in fact, a kind of art since small ornaments are made where inventiveness, skill and precision are needed. Earlier, hand tools were used and the work was done mostly by hand. Contemporary technology for the processing of materials and decoration making has recently been used. The coppersmiths also use various types of precious stones in their work. The most common products of these handicrafts are jewelery, such as rings, brooches, necklaces and bracelets.
