The anticipation was palpable as I embarked on my latest adventure to the Addo Elephant National Park, nestled in the heart of the Sarah Baartman District Municipality. Known for its vast landscapes and rich biodiversity, this park promised an authentic safari experience, and it did not disappoint. As a wildlife photographer, the allure of capturing the majestic Big 5 in their natural habitat was irresistible.

Our guide, Stafford, was a fountain of knowledge, sharing insights into the park’s history and the intricate behaviors of its inhabitants. The vehicle, though enclosed, offered panoramic views and the comfort needed for a day-long exploration. As we ventured deeper into the park, the sight of elephants, zebras, and warthogs at a watering hole was a scene straight out of a wildlife documentary. The elephants, in particular, were a sight to behold, their sheer size and grace leaving us in awe.

Joel’s mastery of the grill was evident as he expertly cooked the meats to perfection, despite the sweltering heat.
