Join us on a incredible demi private full-day wine tour around the island! Visit historic wineries, sample our best wines, savour the island’s traditional espetada dish paired with local wines, and enjoy stunning views! Learn the secrets of Madeira’s wine on this unforgettable journey! We depart from Funchal with a private visit to Blandy’s Wine Lodges, one of Madeira’s oldest producers where you will also taste the fantastic Madeira Fortified Wines! Next, we’ll cross the island to the North Coast, passing through the UNESCO-listed Laurissilva Forest. In São Vicente, we’ll have a tasting of red, white and rose wines, followed by a walk in the vineyards and lunch, featuring the traditional dish espetada - skewered beef. After lunch, we’ll stop at a breathtaking viewpoint for stunning views of the incredible North coast! On our return to the south coast, we’ll visit Barbeito’s for a final tasting of special Madeira Wines. Our qualified guides & vans provide all the comfort you need.

Small group Madeira Wine Tour - Lovely day with Monica exploring the wines of Madeira wine. She also stopped at other great spots do we could take in the views and learn more about Madeira history and culture. Thank you Monica for a great day.

Great food and wine! - We had a great day with Roberto. We started with a tasting of Madeira wine at Blandy’s and then drove to Quinta do Barbusano where we had a tour of the vineyard along with a delicious lunch and many different wines for us to try and enjoy. We then went for another Madeira wine tasting which was a different style than Blandy’s. Roberto gave us lots of great information about the places we went along with information about the island. He was a wonderful driver and tour guide. Highly recommend!

A superb day out to discover more about Madeiran wines - My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the wine tour. We were in a small group of 8 people, and we soon got chatting on the bus. Our guide, Roberto, was excellent. He was full of stories and anecdotes, and always keen to ensure we were having the best time. We visited three wineries, and tasted a whole variety of local wines. The lunch included in the trip was excellent, set against the spectacular backdrop of the north Madeira mountains. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone with an interest in wine and local history, or someone who enjoys travelling through dramatic landscapes with a small group of likeminded individuals.

Wonderful Wine Tour - This was the highlight of our holiday. We started our tour at Blandys, then were driven across to the north side of the island which was beautiful and scenic to Barbugano vineyard which were table Madeiran wines where an excellent lunch was served with a wine of your choice. Then the day finished at Barbeito which was a more modern day concept of manufacturing the wine. Roberto was the most lovely host and a very intelligent man who shared his wealth of knowledge of the island. The driver I would also like to thank, a very careful driver with no rushing on their twisty and fast roads. Would recommend this tour and if visiting again would without hesitation re-book. Everyone was generous with their time and the amount you could drink.

Brilliant trip, amazing lunch - This is a wonderful trip. Roberto our guide is brilliant, entertaining, informative and friendly. The Blandys Madeira tasting and tour is great. The drive along the coast and up the mountains to the vineyard is truly spectacular and a great way to see the island. The vineyard tour was very interesting but the best part was definitely the lunch and wine 👏👏. Amazing beef skewers, fresh salad and beautiful local potatoes, lots of wine and leave room for dessert . The third winery was closed for holidays but we did visit the north coast and a lovely little bar for Poncha and Portuguese stew. Delivered back safely to our hotel slightly drunk and full belly . Well worthwhile trip.

Worth Every Euro – Wine, Nature, and Roberto’s Expertise! - We found this tour through a pamphlet at the Cliff Bay hotel, which suggested various activities around Madeira. As a group of four friends we decided to give it a try. The price at first seemed a bit high — but now after the experience we can sit was worth it.
Roberto, our guide, picked us up in a minibus, that had a designated driver for the whole tour, leaving time for Roberto to focus on describing the surrounding area and nature, did I mention? He has an excellent command of the English language and is truly knowledgeable about the Madeiran wine scene and is entertaining to listen to. The second vineyard was out favorite location, it is a bit tricky to reach but totally worth it. We had a delicious lunch there paired with white, red and rosé wine tasting. Also if you want to see mountain landscape and more nature than in Funchal, this trip offers you a great glimpse.
You'll definitely get bang for your buck with this tour and Roberto as your guide. Muito obrigado!

Amazing wine tour experience! - We booked a full day wine tour with Madeira wine tours on June 11, 2025. Communication was great, they were very timely picking us up at our hotel. Our tour guide Roberto Loja was really great telling us about the island as we drove around. Our tour guides at each of the locations were so knowledgeable and provided lots of great information about the history of the vineyards, and the make up of the wines etc ... We had adequate time at each of the stops. The lunch at Quinta fo Barbusano was beyond delicious and filling, the amount of food, and wine, we were served was beyond generous! They kept bringing out espetadas, cooked perfectly to each of our likings, and topping off our wine glasses. All included in the cost of the tour!! Our driver was also great. The views were amazing and it was a nice opportunity to take them all in as I didn't have to drive. Also, enjoyed meeting and interacting with the others in our group. It was very enjoyable and I highly recommend them! 1000% Thank you Roberto and Madeira Wine Tours for such an awesome experience! I can't wait to come back and do it again!

Wine tasting trip in Madeira - Just back from our full day wine tasting trip and we have had a fabulous day. Alberto was an excellent driver and drove on the narrow roads with skill and confidence. Our guide Roberto was knowledgeable and professional but more than that his open personality and easy humour made him feel like a friend very quickly. The group we joined was only seven participants in total and it was a good size to hear all the details and ask questions. I would definitely recommend this trip.

Leisurely day of wine... - Leisurely day of wine tasting and seeing the island, with a great guide. We learned the difference between Madeira Wine and Madeiran Wine, and walked along stunning vineyards and saw beautiful views of the island. Lunch was delicious, and the opportunity to try Madeira Wines made by two different methods was really interesting. One of the highlights of our holiday. Being in a small group was really great, we had plenty of opportunities for questions and we didn’t feel rushed at any point during the day.
