A Hands-On and Memorable Chocolate Experience - I visited Kahkow Experience in the Colonial Zone with my cousin, who lives abroad, and we had a great time. Making our own soap bars and chocolate was a fun, hands-on experience and a really nice way to learn more about Dominican cacao.
The activity is interactive, entertaining, and well organized, making it perfect to do with friends, family, or visitors from outside the country. It’s both educational and enjoyable, and we truly had a lovely time. I would definitely recommend it as a different and memorable activity in the Colonial Zone.

Sweet Delights at Kahkow: A Chocolate Lover's Dream - The Kahkow Experience is a real treat. It's a unique chocolate tour where you get to see the transformation of cacao pods into exquisite chocolate. Located in Santo Domingo's Colonial City, they harvest world-class cacao beans under the shade of beautiful trees. You'll get to learn about the process and even make your own chocolate creations.
The tour is suitable for all ages, and you can enjoy personalized attention in a small-group setting. Prices start from $21, and you can choose from different packages, including a Deluxe Tour with lunch and a Premium Tour with chocolate bar making. You can also choose the soap making tour.
We chose to explore both the chocolate and soap making packages and they were both amazing experiences.
Some highlights include:
Chocolate Classes - Learn to make bonbons, truffles, and more.
Kahkow Bar - Enjoy drinks, snacks, and desserts.
Kahkow Store - Find unique products and souvenirs.
Events - Host special events with them.
Soap Classes - Learn to make soap.
It's definitely a magnificent and pleasant surprise with a great atmosphere and modern design.

Fun experience! - We did the chocolate tour and made our own chocolate bars. We got to taste the cacao fruit, the different varieties of chocolate, their ingredients, and finally make our own chocolate bars. Our tour guides were friendly and helpful, and we had a great time! Afterwards we visited the gift shop to buy more chocolate goodies, and the cafe to try the cocoa tea and chocolate shake. All was delicious and most of the employees spoke both English and Spanish which was helpful! We would definitely come back :)

Chocolate Tour and Tasting - We did both the holographic tour and the make your own chocolate bar tour. The video tour was very informative and worth the time. There are so many chocolate options to choose from that it's a shame we couldn't buy more (it'd just melt in the heat). A must do for anyone while in Santo Domingo and/or La Colonia. Very much kid friendly.

Excellent Experience to learn about chocolate production process - This is one of the attractions located at Calle Las Damas. They have a short presentation about chocolate production. If short of time, one could skip the tour and just visit their Gift Shop to buy some of their products or have a short break to taste their beverages and cookies.
I enjoyed my visit here.

Visit to KahKow (video tour) - We knew from previous reviews that “only” one video tour awaited us.
We were all alone, so the KahKow employee was able to concentrate entirely on us. She led us from video room to video room. The tasting we then carried out all alone with her in peace.
Mann learns all about chocolate making at KahKow via the videos. The films are entertaining and give a good insight into the production of cocoa beans.
Just under €37 for watching video is overpriced. The nice handling and especially that there were only two of us, however, compensated a lot.
Finally, you have the opportunity to taste the chocolate treats in your own cafe on site for a fee and also to shop for them at home.
DAS is highly recommended. We liked it very much and we also shopped properly 🤤😁.

I explained to two storekeepers and I never had any answers to the broken glasses I bought them. - I did the tour in December 2025, It is the best Cocoa that is tested, in the products of the store I did not have the same experience.
