- Parque Roberto Burle Marx - Parque da Cidade - The Roberto Burle Marx Municipal Park, commonly referred to as “City Park,” is situated in São José dos Campos - SP. It spans approximately one million square meters, once part of the former Parahyba Weaving Farm.
This expansive area is home to a wide variety of plant species and features a stunning landscape with gardens, imperial palms, lakes, artificial islands, woods, and promenades.
The gardens, designed by Roberto Burle Marx, and the Olivo Gomes Residence, crafted by Rino Levi, represent significant works of modern architecture.
A key attraction of the park is the opportunity to connect with nature. Visitors can enjoy delightful walks along paths surrounded by lush vegetation, consisting of both native and exotic species, and inhabited by diverse wildlife.
The park is also an ideal location for physical exercise, recreation, cultural activities, and environmental education.
In 1996, the complex was designated a municipal park. Its heritage is protected by Comphac - the Municipal Council for the Preservation of Historic, Artistic, Landscaping, and Cultural Heritage. The Olivo Gomes Residence and Burle Marx gardens are also listed by Condephaat.

- Igreja Matriz De Sao Jose - The Mother Church was the first chapel in São José dos Campos, built around 1643 when Indigenous people still inhabited the city. In 1831, heavy rain caused the chapel to collapse, leaving only the altar. It was rebuilt with paving stone (walls made of crumpled and crushed clay). As mud was not very durable, a new church was constructed in 1934 using masonry, which is the current Mother Church.
- Mercado Municipal de Sao Jose dos Campos - The Municipal Market of São José dos Campos was inaugurated in 1921, built on the site where an old market occupied a third of the current area in 1896.
The remaining area featured a small square, Largo do Mercado or Largo Dáparecida, in front of the NSAparecida church, which was later disbanded and encroached upon by neighbors. It was here that farm troops gathered, bringing their goods.
Its expansion was part of a project to improve and expand the city and adapt to the health requirements of the 1920s.
- Memorial Aeroespacial Brasileiro - The Brazilian Aerospace Memorial (MAB) is a museum located in São José dos Campos, São Paulo. Established in 2004 by the DCTA - Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (formerly CTA), it aims to preserve the history of the Brazilian aerospace industry. It is open from Tuesday to Thursday (8am-12pm and 1:30pm-5pm); Friday (8am-5pm), Saturday and Sunday (9am-5pm). It is closed on Mondays.

Visitors can view the sky through telescopes and other equipment. The staff is friendly and eager to explain everything. Built by astronomy and physics enthusiasts, the observatory features many devices and equipment for observation. If you’ve never visited a place like this, it will be a unique experience. If you have, it’s not to be missed (open Wednesdays from 19:00 to 21:30). The observatory is closed in July, January, and February.
