A special and unique time with the Kogui - We did a slightly different tour, and only visited the kogui village and not the beaches. Our guide Elkin, was fantastically knowledgeable and he had a good relationship with the village, which was very positive to see. He was patient with our broken Spanish too. The trip began with a steep uphill hike, beautiful views and many stunning birds, but not advisable with dodgy knees or heart! Once in the village the lead was taken over by a Kogui Mamo, Manuel, a spiritual leader. It was a profound experience to hear from him and learn about the relationship between the Kogui and the Earth, as well as to each other. The village is impressive in itself - nice gardens, round houses and sacred sites. To our surprise we received a ritual blessing from the mamo, something we will never forget. We also had coca tea and a nice lunch. We feel lucky to have visited this very special land and peoples. FYI - make sure you request an English guide if you speak no Spanish!

A Transformative Connection! - Voy a dejar mi opinión en ingles por los otros turisticos estadounidenses--
Juan David is the absolute best! He has a clear appreciation and passion for the bounty of the natural world and the nobility of the Kogui way of live. He is full of vitality, sensitivity and warmth, going above and beyond to give our family an amazing experience-- scaling a cliff to fetch a rare type of mango in one instance, gathering medicinal herbs at night for my sick brother in another. He found ways to weave cultural and historical knowledge into personal stories in ways that really made the country feel real, vital and alive.
Above all, Juan David has a true love for people, nature, and life. This has helped him forge true relationships with the Kogui, and their wisdom and grace had a profound impact on my family. I cannot recommend this trip, and Juan David as a guide, enough.

A new experience that has made us grow. - Juanda is a very good guide who knows a lot about medicinal plants and the history of the indigenous peoples of Tayrona
It has removed the barrier between us and the members of the villages and has been a very respectful and interesting tour

An unbeatable tour - Juanda is an attentive, friendly and knowledgeable guide to the kogui communities, flora and fauna of Tayrona Park. He told us incredible facts about the medicinal power (or quite the opposite) of the plants in the park, and helped us to meet in person the Tayrona kogui and their surprising and interesting culture and history, as we walked the beautiful and lush Calabazo trail.
A tour not to miss it. Congratulations!!!

Must see tour - One of the best tours I’ve ever experienced. Juan was very knowledgeable of the area. We don’t speak fluent Spanish but he was still able to communicate in a way that made for a great tour. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting colombia.

Nice & interesting full-day hike - That was a long hike in the jungle and in the heat (well, when you get to the beaches, the previous doesn’t sound hot anymore 😅)!
The visit of the pueblito Taiku (kogui village) was really interesting, to learn about the community traditions and how they use plants. I saw koguis on TV a few years ago and their philosophy about the environment / Mother Nature and how we should protect it really appealed to me, so that’s why I was interested in meeting them.
However I regret the lack of motivation of the « team ». The accompanier (Juan David was away on that day) and the kogui guide didn’t show much motivation and were hardly interacting if I didn’t ask questions. It sometimes felt as if I was hiking on my own. For this price and this kind of tour, I’d have expected more interaction.
