A Maritime Triumph in Cabo Verde - "Never in the field of nautical leisure has so much been enjoyed by so many, for so little effort."
Upon visiting the sun-drenched shores of Cabo Verde, one must always have a strategic objective in mind. On this particular morning, our objective was clear: a three-hour sortie upon a magnificent catamaran.
We were met at the rendezvous point by a crew of the highest caliber—the Captain and his two stalwarts. Their hospitality was as unwavering as a British garrison. After a swift check-in and the distribution of life-vests upon the beach, we embarked via a small tender to reach our vessel.
The Vessel and Her Crew:
The catamaran is a formidable craft; spacious, elegant, and possessed of a deck that invites both contemplation and comfort. The crew are not merely sailors, but linguists and diplomats of the sea, speaking fluent English and French with effortless grace.
The true "spice of life" on this voyage was the company. To share a deck with travelers from every corner of the globe is a reminder that, though we may be divided by geography, we are united by the pursuit of a good breeze and a cold drink.
Observations from the Quarterdeck:
To witness a catamaran maneuvering seamlessly across the coastal waters is a lesson in poise. While the dolphins, turtles, and whales chose to remain in "splendid isolation" this day, we were treated to the sight of the flying fish—extraordinary creatures taking to the air with the spirit of the RAF.
Key Recommendations:
* The Snorkeling: I implore you, go overboard! The water is exceptionally warm, and the fish are plentiful. It is a world of silent wonder.
* Provisions: Drinks and snacks are provided throughout the engagement, ensuring morale remains high.
* The Motto: One must embrace the local doctrine of "No Stress." It is a policy I found remarkably easy to ratify.
Final Verdict:
Should you find yourself in Cabo Verde, take to the sea. Bring your sun cream, maintain a cheerful disposition, and enjoy your stay. We shall sail on the seas and oceans, and we shall have a grand time of it!

Relaxed & enjoyable afternoon cruise along Sal’s west coast - Spent a delightful afternoon on the catamaran sailing along Sal’s west coast. It was a ~50 foot boat with 2 (very friendly) crew & 14 guests so not crowded. We only used 1 sail so didn’t go anywhere particularly fast. And we had a couple of beers (included) so it was definitely the relaxed cruising/sunbathing vibe, not a party or adventure boat. We had a quick snorkel (masks provided) when we got back to the mooring but there wasn’t much to see. However, we did see flying fish & turtles while we were sailing.
Their minibus (included) took us from Santa Maria beach to the mooring point & back.

Thankful - The tour kept its promise.
From the pick-up at the hotel to the return transport everything worked easy and no stress.
The BordCrew was very concerned about the guests and did a TopJob.
We were lucky enough to see flying fish and whales, which of course cannot be guaranteed. The sea was a bit rough that day and so the snorkeling was a bit short. However, it is generally not a snorkeling trip.

Great afternoon out! Great value for money! - This is a fantastic afternoon out.
Be prepared for a hot bus trip to the boat if you're not local to the launch point, but even that was relaxed and well organised.
The boat trip itself was amazing. The crew couod not do enough for us, plenty of water, soft drinks, beer and wine with snacks at the start and finish. We saw dolphins playing and leaping all round the boat, humpback whales breaching in the distance and flying fish too. Even if we had seen nothing, the 3 hours on the catamaran were the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Plenty of shade when needed and glorious sunshine too. Highly recommend!

Lack of situation perception by employees. Not recommended. - When we were finally picked up at the agreed place about an hour late, everything was promising. The guide was probably not Danish as it says he wants to be, but we could live with that.
There was a fairly high lake but the ride with the rubber boat to our catamaran was good and it was clear to notice that it had been tried many times before.
On board our catamaran was info and safety good. Overall, the first half of the trip was really good.
Unfortunately, about half of the guests on the boat could not control their alcohol intake and the rest of the trip was made for a partycruise. Here the captain and his assistant should have put a damper on them.
At some point we are all gathered in the back of the catamaran due to a lot of wind, which was fine. But when the party then simultaneously starts, some smoke and dance so it's a little hard to be there, then it's just not good enough.
It was expressly stated in the description of this tour that it was not a festive tour.
Our young man felt uncomfortable and made to laugh. Shame when it all started so well.
