• Murdeira - Murdeira Bay serves as a summer mating ground for turtles due to its calm waters, protected by the coast on the left and a mountain on the right. The catamaran halts at the base of “Monte Leao,” a mountain resembling a sleeping lion.
• Fontona - Fontona is the largest oasis on Sal Island, situated near Palmeira Village on the northeast coast.
• Palmeira - Palmeira is a vibrant fishing village with colorful, traditional Cape Verdean houses. Located in the northwest of the island, it is home to the main port.
• Buracona: The Blue Eye of Cabo Verde Shop - Positioned on the island’s northwest coast, Buracona is renowned for its natural swimming pool and the “Odjo Azùl” (Blue Eye). The Blue Eye is a 24-meter-deep cave connected to the ocean. When the sun is directly overhead, sunlight illuminates the cave’s sandy bottom, creating a stunning reflection resembling a Blue Eye.

Adjacent to the Blue Eye is a natural swimming pool. The ocean tides cause daily changes in the pool’s conditions. On many days, the waters are perfect for swimming, while on others, waves crash against the black lava rocks. The area includes a restaurant, restrooms, and a souvenir shop.

• Terra Boa - Situated in the northern part of the island, Terra Boa is the greenest area of Sal. Here, visitors can witness the “Mirage” (or “Fata Morgana”), an optical phenomenon where hot light rays reflect distant objects and the sky, creating the illusion of a desert lake.
• Pedra de Lume - Within an ancient volcano’s crater lies the world’s second saltiest water.
• Feijoal - Shark Bay. Visitors can walk closely with lemon sharks in this shallow bay on Sal’s eastern coast.
• Serra Negra - On the route to Murdeira, one can admire Serra Negra, the “Black Mountain,” located in the east coast’s natural reserve. From the mountain’s summit, an incredible lunar landscape is visible, while at its base lies one of Sal’s wildest beaches, welcoming Loggerhead Turtles in the summer.
• Kite Beach - Sal Cape Verde - This beach is renowned for hosting kitesurfers in the winter and Loggerhead Turtles in the summer. During winter, kitesurfers from around the globe gather to enjoy the waves and strong winds. In summer, the bustling beach is replaced by Loggerhead Turtles laying their eggs.
