Hiking Trails:

This is a relatively small preserve, covering 205 acres (83 hectares). It features approximately 3.25 miles (5.2 km) of trails that traverse part of the property. The reserve is located at some of the highest elevations in Monteverde, ranging from 4,750 to 5,300 feet (1,450 to 1,615 meters).

Around half of the area is primary forest, while the other half is secondary forest. This variety of habitats creates an excellent environment for birdwatching, with about 250 bird species identified in the reserve, including hummingbirds, sparrows, redstarts, finches, toucans, the resplendent quetzal, the three-wattled bellbird, and more.

The tour typically lasts 1.5 hours.

The hiking tour requires a moderate level of physical fitness.
