Unique Ride - it was a great experience. our guide was most safety conscious and extremely helpful. we covered a variety of terrains. Two different paths - there and back. Full equipment provided and a stop at a lovely beach for a swim. we came back dirty but very happy.

Tamarindo ATV ride - My husband, parents, and I really enjoyed this trip. The ride itself lasted over an hour and included stops at two beautiful beaches, each for about 20–30 minutes. The first beach had an incredible viewpoint, and the second beach was equally wonderful, with a great smoothie bar, a BBQ grill, and even some friendly pigs hanging out. Our tour guides were professional, friendly, and very informative.

ATV adventure - Such a great family experience exploring the countryside and less populated beaches! You will get dusty and dirty but it’s super fun!! There’s even a smoothie stop before heading back (bring colones.)

Excellent and fun experience - Excellent tour with our guide Juan. Tour was prompt and the ATV’s were very easy to operate, even for a novice. Beautiful beaches to swim in if you choose. Great smoothies at one of the beaches. Pretty dusty during the dry season as expected. We had no issue but might want a bandana for for your nose/mouth if you have any breathing issues/asthma.

Tamarindo ATV tour - Great to see some of the life away from the main town. Disappointed that we didnt go on trails, just dusty roads. Saw a couple of nice secluded beaches!

Lovely ride on an ATV - There were 5 in our group, my husband, our 20 yo daughter, my sister and her husband. We each had an ATV. They had a double that allowed my sister (who had a broken ankle in a cast) to ride on the back of an ATV with her hubby. The place was a bit hard to find. We followed the directions, but when we arrived, we didn’t see a sign. (Maybe we missed it?) But there was a guy that came out and waved us down thankfully. Our tour was supposed to start at noon (that’s what our ticket said), but was told it actually didn’t start till 12:30. We didn’t mind…Pura Vida…we were on vacation. The guy felt bad and brought us into the compound. There was a family eating lunch so wasn’t sure if this was someone’s house? but he offered us these refreshing “ice creams” which was frozen fruit like an icee. They had coconut, kiwi and papaya and were absolutely delicious in the hot dry heat! My daughter noticed the coconuts growing in the palm trees in the compound, so before we knew it, he called a couple of guys that were working and waved them over to climb the tree and fetch 5 coconuts that they used a giant machete to lob the tops off and within 10 minutes we were drinking fresh coconut water from these coconuts. There was a woman who was eating lunch (grandmother perhaps?) that came over and brought us spoons to scoop out the flesh from the coconut. Wow…what warm hospitality! The ATV guides came back from their previous tours and we realized at that point, it was only the 5 of us…score on the private tour! The ATV tour was a fun activity that allowed us to see Costa Rica from a different perspective. We took winding roads through local neighborhoods and farms to see a side that we would never have found on our own. The beaches were beautiful and the one beach we stopped at had this giant pig roaming around which was funny. There was a little snack shop that you could buy a refreshing smoothie or cocktail. A few suggestions for future tours. It is really dusty! My face was covered in dirt when we returned. Bring a bandana to cover your face or you’ll be breathing dust for 2+ hours. They give you helmets and goggles, but it would be nice if a bandana was standard or to remind people to bring one on the tour. Bring a backpack. There was no where to put stuff on the ATV. We left everything in our car, but then realized when we got to the beach we had no stuff. So reminder to pack a towel and sunscreen in a backpack. There was a rack on the ATV, so perhaps if we asked we could have strapped our stuff down?? It would have been nice if the guide introduced himself, gave us some background on what we were doing and stopped along the way to tell us where we were. It’s in the description i suppose, but as we were driving around I kept wondering where are we? Would have mad it more personal and engaging. when we arrived at the beaches, we asked lots of questions and our guide tried to answer as many as he could (he looked like he was 16?) but I couldn’t tell you where we went. There were a few times I wish we could have stopped for a photo. We drove by this cool field with all these cows. I wondered what this place was and how it was run. Perhaps it’s not appropriate to stop a group on the road, but there were so many cool things on this tour that I wished we could have learned more about. Overall the guides were nice and the day was beautiful, beaches were gorgeous and everyone was so friendly. If you’re looking for a lovely drive on an ATV with your family and friends and don’t like a lot of talking, then I would absolutely recommend this trip! For me, I’m curious and love the history and backstory of the places I’m visiting so wanted more.

Extremely unsafe - I was super excited about this tour but was severely disappointed with how everything went. These ATVs were in poor condition and extremely unsafe. Our brakes went out on the way back from one of the beaches causing us to wreck. My friend fractured her tailbone and had to receive stitches in her ankle from jumping off and the ATV landed on top of me (thankfully I was fine, only had a concussion and sprained neck). After the accident, one of the tour guides had me ride with a random person who was an inexperienced driver (who was already being extremely unsafe and got sent to the back of the group) and she almost flipped us over two more times! It was ridiculous. This was one of the scariest things I've ever experienced and will never do again. Please think twice about booking this excursion!

Seriously injured/company neglects maintenance - The breaks went out on the four wheeler and flipped on us going around a curve. I went to the emergency room and received 20+ stitches. I had told a trip leader that the breaks were not great and he said “ok, ok” I thought he was goi to fix while we were at the beach. I didn’t realize until later after being injured he didn’t speak English. Once I was injured they did have a woman pick me and my friend up (she did not speak any English) and take us back to the hotel so I could walk to the emergency room. They would not tell the rest of the group what actually happened, they just said I was going back to the hotel. This was very unprofessional and the company neglects the maintenance of the four wheelers. 50% of the four wheelers didn’t have power steering and also everyone on the trip had to ride double (except for a few) because there we’re not enough four wheelers and they overbooked themselves.
