As the sun rises at 5:41 AM, the day begins with a warm embrace, inviting you to explore the wonders of the region. On March 29th, the overcast skies provide a perfect backdrop for a day of exploration without the harsh glare of the sun. The high UV index, however, reminds us to lather on sunscreen as we embark on our adventures.
Start your day with a Palo Verde Boat Tour adventure, a private tour that kicks off at 7:30 AM. Glide along the Tempisque River, where the lush greenery of Palo Verde National Park unfolds before your eyes. This sanctuary is a haven for bird enthusiasts, with sightings of scarlet macaws, roseate spoonbills, and the majestic jabiru. The park’s diverse ecosystems, from evergreen forests to mangrove marshlands, offer a glimpse into one of the most threatened ecosystems in the tropics. As you cruise, keep an eye out for the playful antics of howler monkeys and the stealthy presence of crocodiles.
“Spectacular Wildlife Viewing - Decided on this tour because it was a private excursion. Miller promptly picked us up at our hotel and we were off. Made a stop at a local park to see the lizards up close. At one point, I had five lizards at my feet. Miller stopped the car en route to Palo Verde to point out the Howler monkeys in the trees. Upon arrival to Palo Verde, we realized we had the entire boat to ourselves. The boat ride was the highlight of the trip, we saw lots of wildlife up close and at a distance. We had tons of opportunities to snap pictures of everything we saw. We had a fantastic time and were so grateful we had Miller to show us around.” - Reviewed on 2018-12-10
