Santa Clara boasts a long, tranquil sandy beach with white sand that subtly sparkles with volcanic minerals, as this region emerged from the sea floor due to volcanic activity from submerged volcanoes millennia ago. Visiting the beach is undoubtedly one of the top activities travelers seek to enjoy in Panama, so ensuring you quickly dive into the sea is essential. This experience enhances the allure of Panama’s legend, as it is the site where Vasco Nuñez de Balboa discovered the Pacific Ocean in 1513. A cooler with ice will be provided for you to fill with your preferred drinks, which you can purchase when we make a stop along the way. The journey along the Pan American Highway takes about an hour and a half each way, with opportunities to stop for restroom breaks.
