The best snorkeling day in Ibiza - We had an amazing day on the boat near Conejera island. This can be reached only by boat and it seems it is part of a Natural Park due to its high ecological value (we have been told by Greg, the host, that it is also called the rabbit island but no rabbits were ever found there lol :) ) It was an excellent experience for both my son and I as the whole team was so kind and friendly and they made us feel comfortable and gave us a familiar vibe. My son was so confident and asked to be in the first round of snorkellers. He asked so many questions and was amazed how it feels when you hold a sea urchin, a sea sponge or a sea cucumber in your hand. We have seen also a starfish, jellyfishes, green pacedonia, anemona and learnt how the octopuses are building their little rock houses. My son got a shell from one octopus abandoned house and he was over the clouds with pride, he took it back home and he has it in his room. He told all his friends about this experience. We will definitely cherish the memories of this trip forever and we want to thank the whole team at Meet the Sea for an amazing day, filled with joy and happiness. You made us both feel so good. Greetings to Elizabeth, we were having a great time together ❤️ I would highly recommend this trip to everyone and I hope we will meet you again in future.

AMAZING 👏 - Myself and my 9 year old son done this trip, it was absolutely amazing, the crew genuinely have a passion for what they do and make it such a special experience, my son learnt facts about sea creatures that he would never have learnt and held a few as well. I would highly recommend this experience and would 100% do it again. Keep doing what you are doing and thank you for make our holiday that little bit more special 😊

Great trip for all the family - This was a great family trip out. We went with our 6 year old, 9 year old (with special needs) and my 87 year old dad and everyone had a great time! Our 6 year old loved the snorkeling and chance to paddleboard and despite our 9 year old not wanting to partake in the snorkeling she had a great time and even surprised us by jumping off the boat on a noodle at the end. Dad stayed on the boat but enjoyed watching us in the water and relaxing with a drink. The children also loved to watch the paella being prepped and feeding the fish the leftovers. All in a great family trip - not cheap but we enjoyed the family run conservation element and would recommend.

Fantastic family experience can’t recommend enough. - Fantastic experience. Greg and the team were amazing and so knowledgeable about the sea and surrounding area. The trip was very safe with life jackets and noodles for kids and less experienced swimmers. The swim around the cove was amazing with my daughter getting to hold a sea cucumber and sea urchin. The Paella was beautiful for lunch. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing experience - if you're in Ibiza get it booked! - I honestly couldn't recommend this experience more - and it is an experience not just a boat trip! From the second you get onboard Greg and his team go over and above to make you welcome. Greg's passion for the sea and Ibiza is amazing to see and we all learned so much in just a few hours. Even my very hyperactive 7 year old was transfixed. The scenery on route to the snorkelling spot is beautiful and once there there's plenty of time to swim, jump off the boat, snorkel and paddle board, as well as join one of Greg's snorkelling tours where he finds various sea creatures for you to hold and hear more about. My seven year old managed the snorkelling bit no problem with the odd tow on a life ring by Greg (he pulls several kids along at once) and a pool noodle when he got tired. There also freshy cooked paella which you watch being prepared and cooked from scratch on the boat in huge pans - tasted incredible. Worth going just for that. :)

Kindness meets knowledge and creates the best trip - Our family of 4 with two girls 11 and 13 who have done a fair amount of snorkeling decided to go on this trip, I was concerned it might be aimed at younger children but my wife was keen for us to go. How wrong was I, we all learnt so much and it has given us a new level of confidence, understanding and capability to spot creatures. I enjoyed it as much as the kids did! Greg the guide is so passionate, kind, caring and consienscious, before he was half way though his briefing I was hooked in, he so dearly wants everyone to enjoy the experience, particularly children. He wants everyone to want to protect the sea and the environment, but in a refreshing and unique way. He doesn't push the environmental message in the way we are used to by preaching about what we should or shouldn't do, he just wants us all to understand the ocean, wants us to find out more and hopes that we will then want to protect it. I really think his approach will inspire people to do that, I hope he will inspire others to offer the same experience in other holiday locations so more people will gain similar experiences. This was by far the best experience we have had of an "excursion" boat trip or the like while on holiday. The way it works is about half an hour heading to a nature reserve, Greg briefs everyone on the way there. He then takes in small groups of up to 12 for a guided snorkel, he picks up from our experience sea cucumber, urchins, sea grass, jellyfish and gives everyone opportunity to hold them and shares so much information in a short time. He also showed us jellyfish gardens so we could understand how to have a better chance of spotting the elusive wonders! Theres also paddle boards available to paddle about on while other groups are on the tour, you can continue to snorkel you can chill on the boat and enjoy the paella the crew makes. Towards the end one of the crew became a pirate and the kids enjoyed treasure hunt which was a sweet end to the trip. I haven't done justice to the genuine kindness and passion of Greg he's really humbling. His crew (which includes his mum, how wonderful is it that they work together) reflect this too. The number on the boat could be way larger and he could be making way more money out of it but it's clear he cares about quality, the first day we had booked for was a bit choppy so he was hugely apologetic and postponed the trip. I wish I could return and spend more time learning he's clearly hugely knowledgeable from years at sea and just such a joy to be around. Worth every penny.

Fun, informative and delicious paella - This was our second time on the Meet the Sea family boat trip, it was top of my 9 year olds list of things to do and we loved in even more than the first time. Greg is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the sea life and brilliant with the children. There was a complete mix of ages and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We’ll definitely be back again!

Amazing day at sea - We had an amazing day today. It was a rainy day which is unusual for Ibiza, but we were glad of the clouds. We were greeted by Greg and his lovely team. All fantastic, Greg is so knowledgeable about the sea and his passion shines through. We saw and held a sea cucumber and a sea urchin, saw an octopus and lots of fish. We had plenty of time in the sea snorkeling, and got to do some paddle boarding afterwards which my kids (10 and 13) and I loved. The freshly cooked paella on board was lovely, the team can’t do enough for you. I would highly recommend this trip for all ages, if we are lucky enough to come back I’d love to do this again. Big thank you to Greg and the team we had a really special day with you lots of great memories made.

Excellent family boat trip! - This was the best family boat trip I’ve been on. The boat had plenty of space both in the shade and the sun. The owner, Greg was really passionate about educating the children about the sea and how it should be protected. We anchored just off a small island nature reserve and were taken on a snorkelling tour in small groups. Our daughter (10 year old) loved the snorkelling and being able to handle a sea urchin, sea cucumber and seeing all the fish swimming underneath her. You’re anchored up for a few hours so there’s plenty of time to chill, swim, paddle board and snorkel. The paella lunch was delicious too! Would definitely recommend if you want an educational but relaxed boat trip for you and your family.

Disappointing Experience for Younger or Less Confident Children - We were looking forward to this experience, for our 8 year old to learn to snorkel and learn about the ocean, he was really excited, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations, particularly for younger children like ours who were less confident in the water. When the boat anchored and the paddle boards were released, they were all directed to the same spot, rather than place either side of the boat. While children waited their turn, many gathered on the paddle boards and blocked the stairs on and off the boat, which created both congestion and safety concerns for the kids getting on and off the boat. For children who were not fully confident, the approach was not supportive. For example, our child wanted to join in but also felt hesitant. At this age, that is a big and understandable step, and a more encouraging, patient approach would have been helpful. Instead, when rounding up the last group, Greg said that those who did not want to go with him had "quit" and would "not get very far in life." He compared it to being "kicked in football and no longer playing." This was not fair, and it certainly was not the kind of message we wanted our child to hear. It came across as dismissive rather than encouraging. Yes, there are children who are confident and fine, but there are those who are not, and just need a bit of support and encouragement. The focus of attention was very much on the confident children, while those who were more nervous received little support. Not every child will have the same level of confidence in the open sea and with snorkelling, and some need extra reassurance. Just because Greg himself started snorkelling at three years old does not mean every child can or should be expected to have the same readiness. The open sea can feel overwhelming for some as well as having a snorkel on for the first time, can feel quite claustrophobic for some, but there was not helping the kids who had never snorkelled before to prepare. The treasure hunt also felt poorly managed. The boat was wet and slippery with children running up and down and slipping, and the "treasure" was simply a box of sweets placed under a table. One child banged his head, and when the sweets were found, it was chaotic, children grabbed handfuls, and those who were more polite and courteous ended up with nothing. Our child only received something after Greg’s mum stepped in to help. Overall, the trip came across as more of a passion project suited to older, an assumption made which was ideal for confident children, rather than a professional, inclusive experience for all. It did not feel well thought through for the needs of younger or more nervous participants, and we were disappointed. It may be worth offering a tailored version of the trip for younger or less confident children. This could include more one-to-one support, staying closer to the boat, and starting with simple snorkelling practice to help them build confidence at their own pace. Gradually introducing them in this way would make the experience more positive and give them the encouragement they need to take part in the full "Meet the Sea" trip in the future.
