If you continue along the main path, you’ll reach rustic Heydon Chapel. Built in the early 1600s, it’s Bermuda’s smallest church.

The term “Diaspora” describes the widespread dispersal of black slaves, primarily occurring during the transatlantic slave trade from Africa. The ADH Trail holds significant importance in Bermuda’s history, with sites located in every parish.

Elements of the history, traditions, culture, and experiences of slaves and their descendants in Bermuda have been officially recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as part of the Slave Route Project, and thus require preservation.
