Unforgettable memories - Our Johannesburg and Soweto day trip with Mo was exceptional. The company car was spotless and comfortable, and the tour ran seamlessly from start to finish. Mo is the best guide we’ve had — his knowledge of Johannesburg’s history and Soweto’s vibrant community is inspiring, and his passion truly touched us. Each stop felt personalized, with thoughtful explanations and time to explore. This tour was well‑organized, authentic, and memorable. We highly recommend Mo and his company for anyone visiting South Africa.

An Incredible Day in Johannesburg and Soweto with John Black – Highly Recommended! - We had an amazing private tour of Johannesburg and Soweto with our guide, John Black, through Stephenson Adventures, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa. From the very beginning, communication was excellent—our hotel pick-up and drop-off were clearly coordinated, right on time, and completely stress-free. From start to finish, John was professional, knowledgeable, warm, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of his city. He tailored the day perfectly to our interests and made us feel safe, comfortable, and deeply engaged throughout the tour. We began in Sandton, seeing the modern side of Johannesburg, including Mandela Square, Nelson Mandela’s statue, and the impressive architecture and energy of the area. We then visited Constitution Hill, which was incredibly moving and informative. John’s insights brought the powerful history of South Africa’s journey to life in a way that we will never forget. Our time in Soweto was eye-opening and inspiring. John took us through the heart of the community, sharing stories that gave context and meaning to every place we visited. A visit to Liliesleaf Farm, where the Rivonia Trial conspirators were arrested, was a powerful and humbling experience. We also explored downtown Johannesburg, seeing both historical landmarks and the vibrant everyday life of the city. John Black is an exceptional guide and a true ambassador for his country and its people. His depth of knowledge, thoughtful storytelling, and genuine kindness made this day unforgettable. Stephenson Adventures provided excellent service from booking to the end of the tour. If you’re visiting Johannesburg, don’t miss the opportunity to explore it with John. Highly recommended!

Up close with history and the present - excellent tour! - We thoroughly enjoyed our full-day tour of Johannesburg and Soweto. Our guide, Collins Ngobeni, presented an accessible overview of South African history from pre-colonial times to the present day, placing everything we saw in its historical context and why it was relevant to current and recent events. Particularly memorable was the Hector Pieterson museum, for which Mr. Ngobeni had already told us the story at the site of the 1976 police shootings. We heartily recommend Stephenson Adventures and Mr. Ngobeni in particular.

Soweto & Johannesburg Exclusive full day guided tour. - The tour guide Mo was extremely knowledgeable and helpful about every aspect of the tour. Any question you had whether it be about Soweto, Constitution Hill or the apartheid museum. He was patient and took his time and answered your questions. The tour was the full day and I enjoyed every minute of the tour. The other people in the group were also wonderful. I highly recommend this tour with Mo. The transportation was also comfortable to ride in and it was also fresh bottles of water for everyone and umbrellas, just in case it rained.
