Phenomenal Guide and Driver - Our guide, Juan Carlos and the driver, Omar were phenomenal. Juan Carlos was very nice and I had an amazing mood. He did not tell the story of the village of San Sebastian in an interesting way. I didn't have a boring time all day.

It was a great trip.... - It was a great trip. Interesting drive through the mountains, great scenery. Good lunch and Daniel our guide and Federico our driver both were exceptional. Fun stop at tequila plantation, and opal store and coffee plantation. Went with husband and friends. We all would do it again.

Day well spent- recommend - It was a great day - I only wish we had more time to wander San Sebastián del Oeste and could have spend a bit more time at the coffee farm. Emma was a fantastic guide with a good understanding of the history. The driver was kind and safe. A nice way to spend the day. Gracias.

Day Trip to San Sebastion del Oeste - The trip was fun, although it did seem as if the focus was on trying to get you to buy stuff from the distillery, the jewelry shop, the coffee shop, and the little artisan market, which left only about 45 minutes to explore the town. The lunch that was included was very good, which in my experience is not always the case.

Disappointing - This tour was pretty good - stopped at a coffee plantation and a tequila distillery which was interesting. Lunch provided was very nice. However, the disappointment came with San Sebastian itself - the whole square was torn up because of construction. I don't think that the tour should have gone ahead under these circumstances or it should have at least been mentioned, so that we could make the decision if we wanted to go or not. As I see mentioned in other reviews, there is a slight push to buy, buy and buy. I purchased coffee beans, given that they provided small samples to taste. We went through 3 check-points with the Mexican military, which given the recent turmoil in Puerto Vallarta, seemed appropriate.

Short changed! - Did not get as advertised. No tour guide on bus, no walking tour in San Sebastion, coffee tasting a joke, only one sample,
Opal stop intersting, however did not get special gift as promised if you made a purchase. Lunch was good, however had to pay extra for the dessert. Also others on our tour were given options, we were not. We enjoyed the trip, however felt short changed, and did not get the information about the area we would have liked. Won't book with them agsin, as you definitely don't get what you pay for.

Guide was disappointing - Long winding road . Expect unexpected stop at hewelry store . Why? Our guide, Reuben, was a nice guy but basically recited a few paragraphs. There were hours ge could have filled wigh info. Plus viator combined pickups of our tour wiyh snother so we were picked up 1 hoyr and 10 minutes before tour started. Became a 10 hour day for a 6.5 hour tour.

A Shopping Expedition Disguised as a Cultural Tour - San Sebastian is a nice little town up in the mountains that is certainly worth the visit but we felt the tour was more of a push to shop than anything. Lunch was fantastic and our tour guides Emma and Fermin were great. Now the bad.
We felt rushed alot to get from store to store. We went to a coffee/ bake shop and were encouraged to buy. Next was an EXPENSIVE jewelry store, then on to another coffee place that wasn't very impressive. No actual coffee processing happening, just buy some coffee and candy and move on. Next was a peanut brittle shop with interesting trinkets. Internet wasn't working so no credit card purchases, they kept trying though to make sales. Next was lunch which was authentic and delicious but again rushed. We then walked to a very old, beautiful church. I'm not a church person but its worth a look. Then on to a blanket shop for a 30 second demo and of course encouraged to buy again. Then 15 minutes to ourselves to have a beer, candy, ice cream etc.
The tequila shop was supposed to be a working place but it was just a short seminar on the process, it was obvious to us that it was just a outlet et to sell tequila. We did get to try 5 different tequilas but couldn't afford to buy any. Then back into the van for the ride home.
We were told we would get a bottle of water when we got into the van but had to wait until our first or second stop to pick it up. I'm a big water drinker and didn't take any because we were told it would be available upon arrival so by the time I got mine I was perished!!
Overall we were impressed with San Sebastian as a whole but not the tour itself.

Bad year for San Sebastian visit - Not the best year to visit San Sebastian. The roads around the plaza are torn up while new water pipes are being placed. Most of the shops closed. Also, a section of the highway is closed for a bridge being repaired/replaced. So, a long detour on a dirt road. Not the tour guide's fault but I wouldn't recommend the visit this year.

Just Rent a Car - Long day, very little time in town and you will spend most of the tour in the van. Rent a car and go yourself if you really want to visit.
