• Cuscatlan Park - Discover how the new Salvadoran culture is embracing art, sports, orchestra, music, and more. This transformation began in 2017 under Bukele’s leadership, making San Salvador a more inviting destination. Note that the park is closed on Mondays, so we will gather at the entrance on Alameda Franklin D. Roosevelt.
• Basilica Sagrado Corazon de Jesus - We will pass through the hospital area and a university campus before delving into the history of our civil war and visiting the Basilica of Sagrado Corazon de Jesus.
• Hula Hula Market - Explore where street vendors have been relocated and the recent developments in the historic center. At Kilometer 0, vendors who once paid extortion now have a secure place to sell their goods, complete with parking and food courts.
• Plaza Barrios - Visit Gerrardo Barrios Plaza and learn about its namesake while capturing photos of the surrounding buildings, including the National Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral, and National Library.
• National Palace - Discover the history of this palace, its construction, and its role in the 1900s. Today, it is where President Bukele has held his swearing-in ceremonies since 2019, and will again in 2024.
• Catedral Metropolitana - Admire the Cathedral and locate the Crypt of Monsignor Romero. Learn why the country is named El Salvador and hear about the tragic events of March 30th, 1980.
• National Theater of San Salvador - At Morazan Plaza, appreciate the beauty of the National Palace, a structure built due to coffee exports in the 1900s, and enjoy the wonderful shows hosted there.
• Kilómetro Cero - Arrive at the heart of Centro Historico and understand why it’s called Kilometer 0. Every street and avenue originates from this spot, which is now a delightful place for photography, unlike the past when it was avoided due to safety concerns.
• National Library of El Salvador - Conclude the walking tour at one of Latin America’s finest libraries, featuring air conditioning and a spectacular view of the historical center. Adjacent to the library is the newly constructed Central American garden, completed in just a week, with a stunning water fountain.

The endpoint is 3 kilometers from the starting point. Parking is available at Mercado Cuscatlán at the starting point or at Estacionamiento Morazán at the endpoint if you are driving.
