- Plaza Libertad - As the oldest public square in San Salvador, dating back to the city’s second founding in 1545, Plaza Libertad is surrounded by significant civil and religious structures. It is here that the Central American independence movement began, and the plaza honors the Founding Fathers who led this pivotal event.
- National Theater San Salvador - This elegant neoclassical theater, over a century old, is the hub of performing arts in the city.
