Stunning scenic views of Lake Atitlan - The tour we took exceeded all our expectations. We start the experience with a delicious breakfast in a restaurant that offers a breathtaking view of Lake Atitlan. During the tour we visited three charming villages, each with its own identity and traditions. The first surprised us by its color and the warmth of its people. We had the opportunity to participate in authentic experiences related to Mayan textiles, honey production, coffee and artisan chocolate. Personally, my favorite activity was coffee, because in addition to learning about its growing and roasting process, we were able to taste a freshly prepared cup, with an exceptional aroma and flavor. The other villages also have a unique charm: from their art, culture and landscapes, to the way each community keeps its customs alive. Without a doubt, if you visit Lake Atitlan, this tour is an unmissable experience. It allows you to get to know the essence of the Mayan peoples, enjoy their hospitality and discover the cultural and natural richness that makes this destination a magical place.

Tour of Atitlan with a local guide fantastic - I loved the stunning views of Lake Atitlan. The boat ride was a wonderful experience, ideal for enjoying the scenery and serenity of the lake. We visited a cooperative of women who make beautiful Mayan textiles and a cooperative of young people who work with melipona bees. We also made a stop in San Pedro La Laguna and an interesting walking tour in Santiago Atitlan. Something I loved was our guide: he had a deep knowledge about the history and culture of the villages we visited, as well as being a local guide, originally from one of these villages, which made the experience even more authentic. Lunch was delicious because of its position was not included and the group we shared the tour with was very nice. Overall, it was an experience that exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it. It is very worth taking this tour on Lake Atitlan!

Adventure - It was an incredible experience visiting Lake Atitlán. We crossed by boat to visit several magical towns, and each one was unique and special. San Juan La Laguna surprised us with its art, culture and warmth. We also visited San Pedro La Laguna and Santiago Atitlán, each with its own charm. We were a group of 8 friends, and the adventure was simply great. Without a doubt, a highly recommended experience.

Experiencie Lake Atitlán - The tour through the charming villages around Lake Atitlán exceeded all our expectations. It was a unique and enriching experience, full of culture, nature, and human warmth. One of the most memorable moments was visiting a women’s cooperative where they create beautiful textiles using ancestral techniques and natural dyes. Watching their craftsmanship, effort, and dedication was truly inspiring. We also had the opportunity to visit a honey cooperative, where we learned about their artisanal and sustainable production process. Each stop along the way was a chance to connect with Mayan roots, living traditions, and people deeply committed to their communities. Walking through the colorful village streets, full of art, smiles, and life, was simply magical. And riding a boat across the lake’s crystal-clear waters, surrounded by majestic volcanoes, was an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover the true essence of the Lake Atitlán villages and enjoy an authentic, conscious, and beautiful journey

Lake Atitlan - Visiting the three villages was an unforgettable experience. I enjoyed spectacular views of Lake Atitlan and, best of all, was to be able to get up close and personal with the richness of the local culture. I definitely recommend it

Good to see the villages, but lots of downtime - When traveling to the Lake Atitlan area, I think it’s important to do one of these cultural tours to see the various villages around the lake. However, this one was okay. Some pros and cons: Pros: —great chance to get a glimpse of life in the villages. Each had its own charm and nuance, and if we didn’t have a guide booked, we would not have made it out there to see them —loved that our guide was a native of Santiago. Her narration was authentic and personal. —while I normally hate those visits to shops that we are forced to go on during some of these tours. But the ones on this tour were great - small glimpses into the economy of these villages. Saw honey, chocolate, weaving, coffee, and we didn’t feel forced into buying anything, only if we truly wanted to purchase gifts or such. Cons: —part of our tour included breakfast - we went to a restaurant where we got eggs, beans, and plantains for our meal. Could have done without this, and would have preferred to not have this inflate the price of the tour —the boat we took was very, for lack of a better term, janky. I mean - the worst boat on the dock. We kind of jokingly wondered if it would make it across the lake. Well, in the middle, the motor actually did give out! Luckily the boat operator managed to get it up and running again. —the second location we visited, San Pedro, was so cute but there was no plan. We were just on our own for about 30 min. Wish there was something more organized as part of the tour —in Santiago, lunch was on our own, which I liked. Then for an additional cost, we could take tuk tuks to a viewpoint and to a Mayan religious ceremony. The viewpoint was great. The Mayan piece felt very commercialized. Not sure I would have spent for that in retrospect. Overall- I’m glad we did the tour and had the guide’s narration, but there was lots of downtime and some unnecessary add ons. Just be prepared for that.
