Learned so much about Bolivia and sites worth visiting. - My husband and I have enjoyed traveling around the world. This week we had a tour with Cordillera Traveller to Uyuni Salt Flats. It was one of the best tours we have ever had. Walter our driver and guide was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our group. He was truly the best guide we have ever had. I always believed I knew what Bolivia was like, but this tour showed me such a beautiful and exciting side to Bolivia. My husband and I made precious memories

It's worth it! - Great service from pick up in San Pedro de Atacama to the drop off in Atacama. Be careful in the immigration process in the 2 countries and the drivers throughout the journey. It is a tiring journey and full of beautiful landscapes. It's worth it!! There is still a lack of structure in Bolivia for health cases with passengers. A travel companion went through a bad pressure drop and had no one around to help her. If it weren't for a girl who was going by to help, we could have had trouble. This occurred in the therms, as the very hot water tends to lower the pressure. There was also a lack of care in advising passengers about changing time zones and about the arrangement of stops, for food and bathrooms. If we hadn't asked, the drivers weren't talking. In fact, they're drivers, great by the way, and not guides. But fulfill your role. This information structure is still lacking. Dry climate and dust can be a problem for some people. Information was also lacking on the care to be taken with the altitude. As I already had experience from another trip, I knew how to turn and help my mother (67 years old), but not everyone has information. Another factor is that those who do not speak/understand Spanish experience difficulties, as almost no one speaks English on the routes of Bolivia.

Great trip - The tour was really great. Incredible landscapes, we got very close to lamas, saw many flamingos. Our guide Daniel was great and spoke perfectly well english. The driver was very nice too. We were told to bring 350 bolivianos but I think it did not cost us more than 250 per person (including toilets and wifi). I will insist below on the negative points but it was really a great trip and we would do it again! The first morning we waited at least 2 hours at the border and took the breakfast outside of the van. It was very very cold so don't forget to take layers of clothes. The 2 seats at the back of the van were not very comfortable since the roof was low but we regularly exchanged places. The only other drawbacks came from the hotels. In both the bed sheets were not changed. In Vilmar Malcu the room and the blankets were not very clean. The last night they wanted to give us a room with shared bathroom even though it was not what was agreed. The hotel in Chuvica was brand new however, they tried to make us pay for the towels we had to insist that it was not normal. The room were a little cleaner than in Villmar Malcu. We had hot water in both hotels which was very nice. However, in both hotels (and during the whole trip) the food was simple but very nice. We paid 100 euros extra per person to have a private room. It was not necessarily worth it since the others were only 1 or 2 per room. A lady who booked the trip at San Pedro at the last minute paid half as much as we did using viator (200 euros instead of more than 400 euros).

Great trip, great car, great driver, would do it again! - We did the One-Way-Tour from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni, Shared Bedrooms (got a single one nonetheless) English Guide. First of all, the trip is really good, great views and lots of fun. The car is super comfortable and we had no problems at all. The driver was super kind, fun and we had our English guided experience. He drove very well and was super helpful. The first hotel was very minimalistic, super cold, we had no light and were sort of in a room outside the main building. It was okay for one night, but painful for more. The second one on the other hand was super nice, warm and kinda luxurious compared to the first one. The warm shower was great. Overall the food is good, it is what you get on those trips. The organization was initially a bit weird, because we hadn’t heard anything for about 2 weeks when we booked it via TripAdvisor. They didn’t even reply when we contacted them. They have a what’s app number, where they did reply that calmed us down a bit, since we were dependent on the one way trip to Uyuni for our further travel and we were never really sure if it would happen on that exact date. But about 1-2 days before the trip they gave us the relevant information needed and from then on everything went really smooth. We got picked up in front of our hostel on time, went to the border, crossed it and then met our 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser and the driver. Would definitely book it again.

Best tour in uyuni - The tour was amazing and well planned. I did the private tour with them and both the driver and the tour guide were amazing. They also took amazing photos

Worth the Trip — Just Not the Guide - The sights on this tour are truly spectacular—an experience of a lifetime. Uyuni Adventure was well organised, our driver was excellent, the accommodation exceeded expectations (especially compared with what we heard from travellers with other companies), and communication overall was good. Unfortunately, the one downside to an otherwise outstanding trip was our English-speaking tour guide, Claudia. From the first few minutes of meeting her, her manner was unnecessarily confrontational. While waiting at immigration with over 100 other travellers present, she argued with us about our choice of footwear and insisted we would be unable to visit Coral Island unless we signed a waiver. This was uncomfortable and surprising, particularly given that we were paying for a professional service. As it turned out, when we reached Coral Island on the final day there was no issue, no waiver was required, and the topic was never raised again. In fact, our footwear proved to be very well suited to the terrain. This initial interaction unfortunately set the tone for the rest of the tour. Throughout the trip, instructions were often unclear regarding where we needed to be, how long we had at each location, and what was expected. When confusion inevitably arose, we were blamed or reprimanded for not being at a specific point at a specific time, despite the lack of clear guidance. Rather than being given the freedom to explore, take photos, and truly immerse ourselves in the landscape, we felt constantly rushed and closely monitored. We were effectively escorted from spot to spot with very little time to appreciate the surroundings. If we ventured even a short distance away to take photos or explore independently, we were scolded upon returning, or criticised to other group members who had stayed close by. This created an uncomfortable dynamic and made the experience feel unnecessarily restrictive. For context, I am a well-travelled person and have spent two to three months travelling each year for the past six years, and I have never experienced anything like this with a tour guide before. Additionally, the tone and attitude toward us were inconsistent, which made interactions difficult and unpredictable. Overall, her approach limited our ability to enjoy the beauty and nature of the region in the way we had anticipated. We found ourselves envying other groups who travelled with only a driver and appeared to have far more flexibility and autonomy. While the destination itself and the logistical side of the tour were excellent, I would strongly recommend requesting a guide other than Claudia to avoid a similar experience. Despite these challenges, we were ultimately able to enjoy the trip thanks to the incredible landscapes and the otherwise high standard of the tour.

The sights & navigating... - The sights & navigating through the Bolivian National Parks in a 4x4 was so cool! Our guide was awesome and super helpful on answering all of our questions. However, the food and accommodation was not what I expected. I didn’t have breakfast for any of the days of my trip because there was no gluten free option (pancakes, bread, cake were served). Viator had said they could accommodate but they didn’t. I wish I had known and brought more food. The second night accommodation had no running water for the first three hours of our stay. Which I feel is something that should be communicated to guests since the trip is not cheap. They also had no soap or towels again something you should be informed in advance. Before this trip I was camping & staying in hostels, so I’m very fine being self sufficient. But for the price of this trip you would have expected basic necessities: water, soap, decent meals.

Avoid this tour operator - I would give a 0 rating if I could. We booked a one-way tour from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni with private rooms and English guide. Without letting us know, they put us into a group of shared rooms (the price difference is about $100 per person). We did not know this until the 2nd night when we asked the hotel for towels and were told that no towels for us because we were in a shared room group. The guide did not help and told us to contact the company, when there was no electricity, no cell signal, no WIFI, and no heating. The hostel rooms were basic without heating, electricity was only available at certain times. The 2nd hostel seemed incomplete (still under construction) as they used a generator to generate electricity at some time period. The food was also basic with some questionable sanitary practices (bare hands handled foods). I would recommend avoid this operator. Tips: Book the cheapest tours at the city (San Pedro de Atacama or Uyuni) when you are there and pay cash, and cancel the one you booked online before. You should save about $200 per person.
